Hello everyone!
I've noticed that I feel better when I eat slowly. Sometimes I'll take 3 hours to eat four bananas. When I make green smoothies I usually finish it in 2 hours, but afterwards I get really bloated and uncomfortable.
My questions is... should I be eating this slowly? Should I be eating faster?
Also, is there anything else I might be able to do for my IBS problem?
Have you tried a chia smoothie? You can leave out the bananas for lower glycemic. I'd try berries instead.Adding wheatgerm oil can add vitamin e to the digestive tract to help it heal. I'd go with basil in the smoothie instead of any harsher greens to see if it is gentler on digestion.
I went sans smoothie this morning and I'm not having any problems so far. Yesterday it was really bad... I had a dandelion, banana, and strawberry smoothie. I usually don't have a problem with bananas, and my blood sugar usually runs low (which is funny because diabetes runs on my dads side of the family). I'll have to look into the wheatgerm oil (look into= see how much it cost). I never thought about putting basil in the smoothie... hmmm... have you tried it? Does it taste good?
Yes I love basil and strawberries together! A little spinach is good too. Chia get 9-12 times bigger when added to liquid. Sonly get a little like a TBs or 2 per smoothie.
Before I went raw I had similar problems. I mostly ate celery and cucumber green drinks with no fiber plus ginger. And that really helped..
Thanks soooo much! Maybe I'll get some so i can have a smoothie tomorrow. I stopped my smoothies for about a week and now all this bad stuff is happening. Yuck!

I used to have IBS and chronic fatigue. I used to get bloating when eating green smoothies too, so I can feel your pain.

After the third or fourth day I seem to function better then when I am eating heavy meals. My last fast I was walking eveyday. I just feel great when I am fasting.
I'm not denying the veracity of those emails... who knows. However, here is a little background on Tim Ball. I have a hard time trusting anything he says.

I have done a 40 day water fast before. So I guess for some people it miight be dangerous but it works for me. I do better on water then juice fasting.
