Give it to me Raw

Please tell your experiences and what you think.

I dont want this to be a pathway for a preacher to preach the dietribe. For example: someone might eliminate odors on a diet and claim its the diet when it may be the elimination of something more specific. Does that make sense?

All you need to know is, eat fenugreek sprouts and you will smell like maple syrup. best deodorant there is!

Oh I should have made it clear that the idea is not to cover up odor but what foods actually help eliminate bad odor.. let me make this clear, I stunk more when I ate differently(worse, in my opinion) before

I know what you meant. I didn't say to rub the fenugreek under your armpits or anything lol. Certain foods make you smell a certain way for sure. When I ate alot of fruit, I often smelled like bread. Which makes me think the fruit was exasperating a candida overgrowth. Since alot of what we smell in cooked bread is the yeast. That's my theory anyways ; )

Alot of people say eating more fat makes them smell, I haven't noticed that. Just eat cleanly, simple meals, lots of veggies, you'll eventually clean out inside and no longer smell bad. And add fenugreek!

Isn't eating fenugreek still like covering it up, like if you still eat a food that makes you stink and add fenugreek wont the smells just mix?

I believe realrawmatt says if your doing high sugar(fruit, honey) to do low calories.

Fat.. hmm... well someone else said that when they introduced raw milk they started to smell bad so im wondering if avocado or coconut would have the same effects. Possibly its something else in these foodstuffs... well there are different quality and kinds of fats too.

that's because milk is a very strong "prebiotic" environment. this is why probiotic bacteria are cultured in it preferentially - enough so to be named lactobacteria. the downside to that is that milk is not a selective substrate for bacteria - meaning bad bacteria grow in it just as well.

studies of whey protein on populations of bacteria in the intestines and colon showed that milk promoted the healthy growth of healthy intestinal flora just as much as it promoted the growth of harmful bacteria.

so consumption of milk produces this same pro-bacterial environment in the intestines and can create overgrowths - which obviously can contribute to odor.

just smell slightly off milk and then imagine that happening inside you.

this is why most raw foodies advice staying away from dairy.

I hate the way fenugreek sprouts make me smell, so I never eat them.

Meat makes you stink. While I was a vegetarian, no BO.

I have to say, I don't stink any more now that I eat some meat than I did when I was a vegetarian. I think poor quality food makes people stink, though. And garlic;) I did notice that pancreas glandular caps made me stink more, though!
Kasey is right about fenugreek! I was taking it once and my sis and I were working out (very sweaty) and she said to me "You smell like cookies!", LOL!
I just use lemon juice as deodorant and have no problems:) In fact, my sweat is very slightly sweet, almost like when I used to take fenugreek.
