Give it to me Raw

Random question.. BUT I was thinking this morning, if you drink hot tea when eating raw foods does this 'cook' the food? I like to drink herbal tea whist eating say, a raw cake. Do you think it's okay to have these together? I really don't want to destroy any enzymes :| haha thanks in advance :)

I drink it. If drinking hot tea is the worst thing I'm putting in my body, then I think I'm doing alright.

hahaha yeah true I could be doing a lot worse :)

I think the real question for me which I have asked before, is if the tea is raw in the first place? Also whether herbs are raw, since they are usually dried or even micro-waved dried quickly- I guess flash pasteurized. My friend and I when we were younger would always buy lots of bulk herbs and then soak them kind of like suntea, but just overnight and we would get some really strong licorice, hyacynth, hops, feverfew, eyebright, etc flavors. I don't know if they were already heat treated but some people say you have to use hot water to release the oils, but we always had plenty of plant oils floating on top. Another way I make tea is to take a plant from the garden or wheatgrass and whip it in the blender with water and strain it with a tea strainer, leaving a nice green color, when my kids where bottle fed I would fill their bottles with this nice green liquid. I still do it to to start a base for a smoothie when I don't want to juice my wheatgrass I blend and strain, it is very refreshing, and sometimes I make it with rejuvelac, since I am growing my own wheatgrass. Parsley, dandelion, mint, sprouts work well, also.

Heya matey =)

How does hot tea make YOU feel?

Does it fill you with energy and leave you thriving throughout the rest of your day?

or does it leave you feeling sluggish?

Have you tried cutting it out of your diet completely? Does that make you feel better or worse?

Does it have a different effect on you in different times of the year, or different times of the day?

Maybe hot tea is better suited for you during the winter months? Or not?

haha, shit I'm starting to sound like a wise old fart.

Crap! I think I found a grey hair!!

I love drinking tea!! it reminds me of drinking it with my family haha we'll have sooo much tea in one day. of course, they'll have the caffeinated kind with milk and I'll have my herbal. I actually feel quite energized after having tea but I guess it can also depend on what flavour it is, like peppermint will wake me up but camomile will calm me down etc.etc. lol Tweetie bird!!

Water boils at 100 degrees celsius, but 212 degrees fahrenheit.

Its best not to drink ANYTHING while eating as it dillutes the digestive juices.

Drink some water before the meal, and relax with a tea later. That's what I've been taught.

Interesting. Never heard that before.

Hey Michele! We fast 8-10 people per year for 6 weeks and most of them have amazing experiences. Incidentally, though some people imagine there's a need to "work up" to a long fast like this, many are fasting this long for the first time; in fact,...
