Give it to me Raw

Over the last few months I have witnessed durianrider attempt to ridicule, Brian Clement, Gabriel Cousins, Robert Young, David Wolfe, Edward Howell to name but a few. These people alone have around 150 years of experience and research in food nutrition. He sometimes makes the most outrageous remarks and fails to deliver any supporting data time and time again. When challenged, he usually responds with some flippant remark or more often fails to respond at all. My favourite Durianrider quotes are the recent ones;

'i do a bit of shopping for my grandma. i brought around some cert organic gala apples. she told me they are too hard on her body and she only eats golden delicious. grandma told me this whilst eating a msg soaked bbq chip..lol!

i always have a giggle when crew diss fruit and they are eating cancer fodder.

i used to get frustrated about it, but ive learnt that some crew are genetically damaged mentally and cant uptake basic human physiology info. being raw has really taught me what acceptance and tolerance really is

so im gonna add acceptance and tolerance to the 811 lifestyle as key factors to thriving in this cooked world'.

And the classic reply when asked to justify why humans need to train to run 26 miles;

'hey, you never know when a tsunami is coming! better to be in shape than not be in shape dont you reckon?'

What's your favourite Durianrider quote?

So if you are new to Raw food please beware Durianrider has only one message- 811 is the only dietary option. Most experienced Raw foodists disagree with this and unlike Durianrider are prepared to back their statements up.

Not taking sides here, but I took this thread as more of a parody than anything else. It's as much or as little an attack on DR than DR's thread 'Does Gabriel Cousens really have any idea?' was on Gabriel Cousens. Only GC isn't here to have a chance to respond.

DR's posts do sometimes come across as 811 being the only way, and his GC thread was an example thereof, especially in recommending that all raw newbies follow that route. Not all raw newbies are doing it to become superb athletes, and those who are coming because of particular health issues may actually do themselves no good at all by loading themselves up with fruit as DR sometimes suggests is the only way. I think this is what Chris was trying to get at.

As has been mentioned by other people on this thread and elsewhere, different raw diets are appropriate for different people in different climates in different states of health. No-one should say that the one to which they subscribe is the 'right' way, especially as it really could be the wrong way for someone else. There are many newbies that come here seeking advice and it is a tad reckless to try and provide it in such a one-sided way. I'm not pointing the finger solely at DR here; there have been plenty of others and I daresay there will be others yet to come.
I will stick up for you Princess. And don't forget you have guns too. : )
girl with a gun! I love girl with a gun! : )
Yep, that's her. Gorgeous :)
*lol*
w/e durianrider doesn't attack anyone he attacks principles. Principles that don't seem very valid to me. The raw guru peoples philosophies should be attacked if only to better our understanding. I have a big problem with people recommending all these supplements and eating tons of fat. I have yet to see any evidence that fruit sugar contributes to cancer or disease. I realize we are all different but we are the same species and I'm convinced their is a more less one way we should all be eating.....I don't know if it's 811 or what. I prefer logic and honesty over tolerance and "acceptance" I would rather have the facts then be nice to someone. I have no acceptance for a cooked food diet....it doesn't mean I don't except the people. I wish i could just tell them how i really feel. DR gives his opinion on food and food theories not people on the board...take it or leave. I would like to see more evidence however. Not just from him but from all the guru's.

this thread is just dumb (notice how i am not attacking the person, but his ignorant waste of energy)
*lol* it's amazing what you can find on the internet!

It is very hard to find things in this non-linear post format once it gets past a page or 2.
