Give it to me Raw

Nikki

Does anyone suffer from food intolerances...and what are your symptoms??

Food Intolerances...they suck.....even on raw I get them.
However the closer I can stick to 80/10/10 the less I have them.

I get really bad water retention from dairy, corn, nutritional yeast--so I think yeast which includes some vinegars especially soy sauce. I feel like it is everything besides fruit, and plain veggies. I will put on like 2 pounds of water weight. It makes eating anything besides 80/10/10 very difficult.

For example
at restaurants ordering a salad (many dressings have xanthan gum-thickener made from corn), so if I don't order meat, can't order any fancy dishes, what is their to order besides a fresh salad no dressing, or steamed veggies--if going off raw?

Can anyone else relate?? What advice do you have for ordering out with food intolerances, and for getting over food intolerances. They seem to have gotten worse the purer my diet has become. In a way I feel like I am being guided towards 80/10/10. But I am having some trouble in the cold Minnesota.

Thanks for any input:)

You might have leaky gut syndrome, resulting from candida. Leaky gut is when your small intestinal lining becomes permeable from candida damage and you actually leak food particles into your bloodstream. The body then attacks those as invaders and intolerances form over time.

I used to be sensitive to all sugars (including fruit) wheat, vinegar and dairy. (I had electrodermal screenng done to confirm this).
I did a candida cleanse (none of those foods for 2 mos.) along with high dose glutamine and antler velvet to heal leaky gut.
When I was re-tested, only the dairy sensitivity remained (I think it's genetic).

I would look for someone who does electrodermal screening (also called meridian testing and bioenergetic testing) to get checked for intolerances and candida/leaky gut. They can help you devise a treatment.
Another option is NAET, which is an allergy elimination technique:

I was totally this way and it is because your system gets so clean esp. from 811 that even treating yourself to anything outside of it becomes very hard. even going to potlucks was like a huge endevour because i knew that the next day i would be bloated, ill, and just gross. i love 811 but for me it is more of a summer kind of thing because that is what comes naturally. maybe take some enzymes before you go out to help break things down, that is what i am doing now. or just ask them to make stuff without it. it sounds dramatic but if i go out to a regular restaurant and know that they are going to put something non-raw in it, i just tell them that i am deathly allergic. that should help, lol. good luck!

Ditto on 811 in the summer!

This may be an unpopular answer, but I believe that many food intolerances can be handled with diet rotation/variation and stress reduction. I notice that I'm able to eat things on vacation that I never eat at home...and I think that's because I'm relaxed and also because I'm trying new things. Others have told me they feel the same way.

Have you tried incorporating a wider variety of foods, rotated regularly, and relaxing before you eat? You might find you experience symptoms less when you can chill out, enjoy new flavors, not get too upset or restrictive with your diet. Anyway, that's been my experience -- hope it helps!

Hey you! As you know, I'm an 811 believer... It's really the only thing that works for me all the time with no problems. It's just soooo hard this time of year here. I'd love to eat persimmons all day but can't afford it. I just got so bored with bananas or oranges and am on semi-gourmet right now. It tastes great but I don't feel the best. I feel I have issues with dehydrated foods and possibly nutritional yeast. I know I have problems with garlic and onions and for sure corn! Cannot digest corn!!!!

Hi nikki:) I have done all sorts of intolerance tests over the years, most tests revealing an intolerance to- sugar, dairy, soy, wheat and gluten. I have predomintaly been raw for a few years now and have always felt something was lingering waiting to pounce if i dabbled in cooked food again.Even on 100% raw sunfoods it wasn't enough to cleanse my body from years of abuse. I have done lots of cleanses- colon, enemas, colonic etc. and these are the tools we have to get a deep cleanse. My so called intolerances have almost disapeared now.... i have rid myself of some proper nasties with cleansing programs. I think in some cases it takes more then a cleansing diet to balance the body energies again.

Coffee enema have been a miracle for me:)

Good luck!

Thank You all for the great feed back. I have a colonic on Wednesday and am going to continue down the 80/10/10 path. The coffee enema sounds interesting.

I guess the best thing to do is keep down the simple raw path.....xoxoxo

I do have to say 80/10/10 is the way to go if you can stick to it. I still have a difficult time....mainly in the company of others...or out to eat, me...myself I can do it (breakfast and lunch)......dinners and weekends get me.

So durian rider...I am trying:) ....I believe everything you say.....But nothing great in life is ever easy. Sooooo.....I will just keep at it. Thanks

I think it's usually due to overexposure in a weakened immune system - either inutero or exposre when you have a fever etc. The body decides the substance is what's making you sick and starts reacting to it. eg I wasn't allergic to oats, had a fever of over 106 for a few days, had an oat cookie as one of the first things I ate, was fine, ate an oat cookie when the fever was gone, instant allergic response, pre-fever I could use oatmeal soap, after fever, hives.

You get lots of stories of pregnant women becoming allergic to something they ate a lot of during pregnancy (the body is in an inflammatory response to the growing baby (usually males causes the most systemic problems) thinks it's what you ate that caused the respose, reacts to what you ate. Same thing for the baby inutero, they often end up with allergies to thing that were eaten a lot of by their mother (mother might not have become allergic). A lot of it is the toxic load in 'civilised' society, and something becomes the tipping point where the body starts to react and you become allergic. Sometimes it's a compound in the food that is found in multiple substances (eg gluten) sometimes it's just one particular thing.

Often with food allergies you can avoid something totally, build up the immune system, and then reintroduce it without problems, depends on the degree of reaction.
I know one guy that thought he was severly gluten intolerant, even biodynamic grains set him off, he went back to Eastern Europe and could eat the wheat in the old country with no reaction, stayed a few months, came back and could cope with wheat here with no problems - inflammatory responses are strange things, so many factors.........

I'm of the "overactive immune system" theory of allergies (and autoimmune diseases, for that matter). Something's made the body go haywire and start attacking itself. Stress and poor diet, I suspect--I'm pretty confident that's what made my immune system go "Hey, let's go beat up the thyroid".

I would venture to guess that 99% of the population has intolerences to dairy, wheat, soy, and glutten, and does not even know it. There is zero nutrionoal value in any of them, and all they do is spike our insulin levels, meaning all day people are just burning sugar, instead of fat. To really rid yourself of all the accumulated junk form a lifetime our not so good food, proper cleansing is a must. Herbal cleanses, and colon hydrotherapies combined will rid all toxic junk. I have been cleansing for about 17 years, and the drnatura one is by far the best for doing what is says it will do, and being very gentle at the same time.

That's definitely Pure. I recognize the food, but even if I didn't, I recognize the plate and the table too. Ha, I've been there way too many times.

PLA- have you had your ferritin (iron-storing protein) levels checked? You can have normal iron but low ferritin, and thus still have anemia symptoms. Or you can have leaky bool vessels due to spleen qi deficiency. Look at your tongue 1st thing in...
