Does a Dehydrator use a lot of Electricity

No. If you ran it all month in Florida (24/7) it would cost about $25. The 9 tray excalibur.

Excalibur says the nine try model uses about 3 cents an hour.

9 tray is a 600 watt machine.
600 watts = .6 kwh
.6 kwh x 24 hr day = 14.4 kwh per day @ $.10 kwh (current FL rate) =$1.44 per day
$1.44 / 24 = $.06 per hour
30 days per month x $1.44 = $43.20 plus admin fee

You're intense if you use the thing 24/7
When I go big its "about $25"

3 cents an hour if its on half the time... : )

I don't dehydrate much, but when I make somethin experimental for my mom, a hot plate with a grill rack on top has worked just fine. I have a small air purifier/fan pointing at it aswell and usually use parchment paper on top of the grill. It's not very big... it's no excalibur!! but hot plates are cheap ; )
