I seen David all over youtube and the internet as most of you have. I think he is so positive and a great person to have on the side of raw.
I don't agree with everything he says, since he does promote eating honey and bee pollen and since I am vegan I think honey should be left for the bees. Somethings although great is just better to not bother the most important little farmers around that help in plant fertilization. As he also says things that we must eat that I don't think is we have to have.
I thought David Wolfe at barrels of raw chocolate now I know he means eat only a bit every once in a while. To much is not really good. It was good to hear him say that and his push for alkaline foods such as greens.
i feel like people dont like that he is exploiting the concept of 'raw food' to profit on somethings that might not be the raw-est healthiest foods- pills, powders, potions, etc. instead he guides people into thinking they need his stuff to be healthy beautiful young and powerful, with no other way.
Some people I just get a 'bad vibe' from. He is one of those people for me. I can't really explain it, just a feeling I got when I watched the very first video I had ever seen from him. I hadn't heard anything about him from anyone else before that, I just sensed he wasn't someone I resonated with. If he helps you, great!! I will admit, he has an excellent way of communicating, which I think is what this thread was pointing out. Even if we don't agree with the message, it was well communicated to say the least.
kinda like the "weasel" feeling?
I personally love the sunfood diet system book because of the amount of love you can feel in the beginning of it. But as I heard he ripped off his first book from somewhere else... I'm sure starfire could elaborate on that better than I could.
but to hate? not even my worst enemy I could hate.
he does seem as if he wanted to be heard, stole a book to get his message across but then the $$$ got to his head and he became an excellent entrepreneur with all his "superfoods" that are not necessary.
Never said I hated him. I just don't like how he conveniently sells everything he recommends. I watched some show by him about water and I saw an evil side to him. He was like, I could sell this bottle of water for $25... and I saw this drug dealer mentality come out through him.
Rick Dina, now there's a guy with a good vibe to him ; )
I also like the Sunfood Diet Success System book... I ignore the parts where he starts pushing his products. If anything they make me feel a little sad and sympathetic-- like I wonder why he feels he needs money so much as to spoil a very nice chapter with a little advert. Then again, I'm used to reading books that are advertisement-free. Maybe he's just operating under another paradigm. Is he a "great" salesman? I think one might need to be a little more subtle than he is to be considered truly "great."
If I had a cacao bean for every time the haters came out to spread their vitriol at the mention of David Wolfe, I'd be able to make a delicious smoothie!
That has always made me curious. I remember when I first bacame vegetarian the other members of my former religion had a new crusade. I am interested in the whole rawfood movement and I guess it's just because humans are involved that we get such a wide range of personalities. Whether it be religion, politics, philosophy or diet the differences can be acute. Maybe its partly because there are so many different body types. Individual DNA mapping that is soon coming might shed much greater light on the dietary needs of each one of us individually,
