Give it to me Raw

Hi,
I've been thinking about doing this for a while now,and I'm pretty sure i got to the point where I wanna be in complete charge of my hair...
does anybody cut their own hair?
how do u do it?
i've been watching some youtube videos and looks kinda easy...
I have mid-length hair and I need to be able to do layers too.

Yes. But I also have my cosmetology license. And I don't cut it every time. I love really layered hair so I'm fine, I have texturing shears and point cut. Enlist a pal you trust to help. Good luck!

Let me know how it goes...I've been thinking about this for awhile and my super-long hair is getting a little annoying. I cut my boyfriend's hair though and it was TERRIBLE. But maybe I can weld scissors better than clippers...

good luck!

i heard trimming and layering long hair it's way easier than men's hair......
i'll look at some more videos and start trimming a lil..then i'll try with the layers..
i just trimmed them 3 weeks ago but i feel they need more care so i wanna be able to give them care whenever i want it ;-)))
if i get good at it i'll post some demo videos

no. some things are better left up to the professionals for a reason.

It's been said that people who cut their own hair are mentally unstable/insane, so I always giggle when I hear people talking about doing stuff like this.

Um, thanks?

Not meant as any sort of judgement, and no offense intended. In fact, the person who first mentioned this to me was also a cosmetologist and thought it was funny that my boyfriend at the time had been cutting his own hair for ages.
Said boyfriend was completely bonkers, so I found it to be incredibly funny...

Over the years (since first having heard the statement) I have heard this several other times from various sources unrelated to the first. Perhaps it's a rumour started by hairdressers to increase their clientele by way of deterring "everyday people" from considering doing something seemingly very simple with scissors? ;)
Sometimes stuff just sticks around for the purpose of sending an occasional giggle one's way from time to time. :)

yeah i cut my own hair, but it's really curly and crazy so no one notices anyway...

that's my advice...

Hi agree with Erin, everything she suggested is very similiar to wha ti have found. I am also seeing an accupuncturist and realize that we actually need cooked foods in our diet to support the spleen. Healing with whole foods is a great start..

I've been doing some "research" on ear candling, and have found three different reports: 1) it's great, feels great, and really helps to clear out the sinuses/lymphs 2) it feels great, but that's just the warmth and it doesn't actually do anything...
