Give it to me Raw

I am doing some research to find out how people interprit the words conscious living and in particular conscious eating? I'd like to invite people to share their views, experiences and thoughts. Love, light and blessings Michele (Snedden)x

Eat what you like - but pay attention:

1. to how it makes you feel
2. beforehand, consciously CHOOSE to eat it (not just automatically/habitually/out of social expectation)
3. to its effect on the planet (or other larger-than-you aspects that are important to you)

Eg. Having a (meat) burger.

You can CHOOSE to eat one, if you want to, but only after considering:

a) the pain the animal would have been through
b) the consciousness of all the ingredients (IMO including this includes vegetables)
c) that the meat will stick around in your colon for a while
d) that the white flour isn't great for you either
e) nor the cheese
f) that if it's 500gm of meat, that would have taken 10 tonnes of water to grow
(& prolly some other things I'm not thinking of)

Now, and this is important - all of the above things will have different weighting to different people. This is why it's a totally personal thing. No-one can tell you what's wrong or right (although people will try, of course). It's up to you to judge whether & how important any of the factors are. They might be completely irrelevant to you. They might be enough that they will stop you eating that burger. They might be serious, but you might CONSCIOUSLY CHOOSE to eat the burger anyway.

It's all about being aware, and making those choices, with as much information as you deem reasonable. It does NOT mean you do a certain thing, eat certain things, or anything like that at all. Just make the choices you feel are best.

Same for conscious living, just with everything else, not just food :)

Hi Si,

thank you for taking the time to give your thoughts, appreciate it. :)
Sorry I have taken so long to acknowledge what you've said I've been busy in the background launching various aspects of my business www.theconsciouslivingpractitioner.com so been caught up in that.
I won't add my views just yet as I would like to encourage others to share theirs and will add mine in due course. Thanks for getting the ball rolling. love and light Michele (Snedden) :)

Being aware of the energy of what I eat.
It used to mean not eating meat and dairy coz I felt the pain of the animals and the karmic slap of it, then when I quit animal products it meant not eating processed food, because it felt wrong...then eating in restaurants where people who made the food might be angry or pissed off, or just depressed, it all goes into the food...and then it meant not eating food that was not organic, and now eating consciously means to me ... For instance, if I prepare my food when I am emotional or having a "heady" moment, then I can feel it in the food and in my body. For me now, it has become important to focus on being clear and meditative when I make food, chanting mantras or singing anything with positive lyrics helps. It can add to the energy, raise the vibration of the food. Blessing it all with love and peace which goes right into every cell in my body.
I also am conscious of keeping my kitchen clean and tidy, and not getting emotional in there. I also use incense and sage to smudge any negativity out of there too. I keep thriving plants growing to add to the good vibes too.

Living consciously for me is all about staying mentally clear. I maintain a constant state of awareness regarding my thoughts and aim for a thoughtless state as much as possible, and when I can't I don't trust my thoughts or take them seriously. I do it because it keeps me in touch with reality, and out of filtering reality through my program/or conditioning which is nothing but an illusion. The reality I experience when in a thoughtless state is heavenly. The reality I experience when I am not in a thoughtless state is tired, old and deluded. If I take away the "I". I am left with no separation between myself and everything around me, this living in Oneness is harmony, peace and bliss to me. Conscious living has come to mean to me, practically living the reality that There Is No Separation.

This has always been one of my healthier alternatives. However, usually our pizzas were done on French bread. Not the best healthy food mind you, but much better than restaurant pizzas!

Is about de-calcifying the body that can give us stones, cysts, scars, hardening of the arteries. I joined this program a few months ago and it includes a pass to see him in Costa Mesa, California (near Los Angeles, the City of Angels thankfully)...

I have a wonderful, close friend and we like to go out and talk over dinner, just the two of us, as they say. He can handle drinking. Last time, I had one 16-oz organic beer and I was hung over all the next day till 7pm. I see why they call it ...
