Give it to me Raw

Hi there. I'm James, from Albuquerque, NM. I just spent 45 minutes typing a longer and even more awesome version of this and SOMEHOW the page reset, at which point everything suddenly evaporated into an invisible vortex of data-nerfing hell. Serves me right for being so unbelievably long-winded. LOL. Okay I'm not really laughing people that sucked.

Here is the short version. I have Colitis & Crohn's Disease. It's just not fun anymore guys. I was diagnosed 12 years ago. I won't use Western meds so I've been dealing with it homeopathically for the last few years, and I've had mixed success. I love raw food and I'm praying that embarking on this new lifestyle will eventually rid me of the disease. I am like a child ready for my first lessons.

My goal is to learn as much as possible and help others as much as possible with what I learn. I want to be emotionally, physically and spiritually "at one" with the universe. Making a few life-long friends while I'm at it would be fantastic.

So my path begins here...today. Take the journey with me:)

I know you can do it! Have you read any of Gabriel Cousens books? He follows the low glycemic approach to healing- primarily green juices at first. Have you tried this? I had really bad stomach issues that were healed that way.

A good friend with Crohn's has just had most of her bowel cut out and now has a colostomy bag for life - at age 25!! If only she'd not been blinded by the western medicos and found raw like you ... best of luck - you are so on the right path and you'll find heaps of support here!!

So odd that you mention the colostomy bag...a dear friend of mine/the girl I'm dating, is 23 and she's on all kinds of meds, taking chemo and facing the stark possibility of having segments cut out, and it terrifies me. She can't go out in the sun because her pupils are constantly at full dilation from the chemo. I've been taking my drinks and having her buy the fresh fruits, juices and herbs that will actually heal her...not continue the downward spiral. She knows what every pill in the world is and what it does (supposedly does). She's gradually weening off the meds now. Just when I thought I'd hit my breaking point, I meet this wonderful person who has it so much worse than me...and it really makes me grateful for where I am, and motivated to get her healed too:)

hey dude ; ) I was in the same boat as you a couple of months ago. I HAD ulcerative colitis. bad too.

First thing you wanna do is get the book "Self healing colitis and chron's" by David Klein. You'll learn everything you need to know in that book to start your journey to recovery. I followed that book and now I'm completely off meds, I feel good too, pain free. Am I bouncing off the walls with tons of energy? no lol. but I don't have pain and I'm on the path to complete recovery. Takes time, patience, and discipline.

What finally got me going was advice from durianrider. I went on a 2 day water fast, stopped taking my meds (my decision not his) and then slowly added small amounts of cantaloupe and banana to my diet. I lived on those 2 fruits for about 2 weeks and felt great. That's when I started to add other things. Don't eat any raw vegetables right now. Juice them or steam them. No nuts or seeds either unless your making a milk from them and completely strain out the pulp but I wouldn't risk it in the beginning.

You can message me if you have any questions until you get that book! sooner the better. Klein had colitis and cured it and has cured thousands of patients. Stay positive, know you will heal. Ignore everything the doctors have told you. this is not a life-long disease. Easily cured when you stop poisoning yourself with bad food.

Kasey thanks so much for the info. The name David Klein has been circulating around me for the past couple weeks. I think the universe is trying to tell me something. I'm going to take your advice and keep you posted;)

we attract what we need ; ) you'll be feelin better in no time. hardest thing may be convincing yourself it's possible. doctors always told me this was a chronic life long illness with no cure and diet had nothing to do with it. all lies. bless their hearts, they are just repeating what they've learned in school it's not their fault. They became doctors to help people. Most of them are genuine caring people, unfortunately they've been tricked into a system that's designed to keep people buying medications for the rest of their lives. there's no money in prevention.

Dude...I had my msogf (my sort of girlfriend), pick up some bananas, cantaloupes and green juices. I took my herbs (slippery elm, turmeric, a probiotic and a colon care product) and mixed them with the juice. It's part of a new regimen for her now...she loved it. Good things...I was thinking about the 2 day water fast, followed by a couple weeks of bananas and cantaloupe, and I'm gonna do it. I'll have to pick a date to center my resolve before doing it so I have my reserves in place when it gets tough...so I'm thinking sometime this week I'll start. I was just wondering if you think I could/should incorporate any green juices, vitamins or herbs. I really like my herb drink, and if anything, I figured it would help cleanse toxins as opposed to promote them. What do you think?

In the book he says greens are not so important in the healing phase, but they do provide valuable minerals. If they don't upset your stomach you could try it. I didn't have any greens for the first 3 weeks or so. In the beginning, if I had green juice it would give me the runs. I would avoid them for a little but heck if they don't bug you, they could help. Maybe dilute them a bit with water.

Ani Phyo would be good, given your ingredients. I like Ani Phyo's Raw Kitchen. Her stuff is very sweet and heavy, though, IMHO.

Yeah, never much thought at the time though as it was late at night and had been about 40 degrees here. Oh well. I am so familiar with the way the Engish and Irish talk that I just assume everyone is the same with the kiwis and Aussies.
