Are there those of you out there who have used cacao to successfully wean yourself off of coffee? Are you now free of the coffee habit and currently consuming cacao on a regular basis in place of coffee? What differences do you notice in the effects? How do you consume the cacao and how much of it do you consume? Thanks for the input.
I had the same thought this morning. I thought it might be a good idea to use Cacao strategically to get completely free of coffee. Then reduce Cacao to a relatively low level or make it an infrequent indulgence. Good question.

I understand the similarities between the two but no waaay is cacao stronger (or harder stuff) than coffee as a stimulant. If I would have coffee in the afternoon I wouldn't sleep till 1-2am and then not very sound but I can drink a chocolate smoothie with heaps of cacao in it right before bedtime and no problems sleeping at all, some people might be more sensitive sure but it definitely hasn't got nearly as much caffeine than coffee has.

I've used cacao to ween myself off of cola before- avocado/cacao puddings, cacao mylkshakes etc. I was using a few large spoons of cacao per drink (big glasses, pint sized) plus a drizzle of two of agave. It definitely helped at the time! The taste combo of cacao and agave is very reminiscent of melted sugar in coffee or hot chocolate :)
Right. I only get negative effects from cacao when i eat way too much of it. Same with any food. I used to drink so much coffee, now i wouldn't be able to have a shot of it without tearing my hair out.
Hi Lee, I agree with you in many ways and would have said an unreserved yes to your statement before I tried raw vegan eating. Maybe it is different for different people, but I have been totally surprised at how much what I eat has been affecting ...
Soaking might help, I really don't know for sure. My father eats soaked dried chestnuts. The dried ones are really hard and they get a little bit softer when soaking them, but they are'nt as sweet soaked.
recently i have come to believe i may (not fully sure) have candida. mainly for the following reasons: after any cooked meal that is high in startches like say risotto the next day my head is so fuzzy and i think it may be even hungover or drunk. ...
This is what my mom recommends too. The thing is I live in a high-rise building in NYC, so I'm definetely not "grounded".
The grounding bed technology makes sense, but it doesn't feel natural to me. Has anyone tried it? Did you notice any changes...

I LOVE this post. you have nailed on the head so many things that I think, about religion, food, dogma, etc.
It's true that so many legalistic people do not realize that what they're doing may come off badly to others; just trying to find what is...
