Attacking people on a personal level for their beliefs and their food choices causes a lot of pain. By declaring that there is a "standard" in regards to what is the best route to a higher level of health sets up people to be right or wrong and creates conflict. For me the old adage for human relationships still rings true: "you can attract more flies with honey than vinegar".

I wish you and Harley well on your path.

Cool...and i wish him well. You know, it's too bad things had to come to this...I mean, I resonate with the message of high fruit and greens as a way of eating and living so I respect where he's coming from on that message and where he's come from in his life. But two things, or rather natural principles involved here...one is that our job as humans is basically to be constructive beings in efforts at making change (even if we excel at what some would consider a blunt form of communication)...and the other thing is kind of related to that--people tend not to listen when we shout. Believe me, I've been guilty of this at various junctures in my own life. And it's really hard not to shout sometimes when you're in possession of great information. Attraction always proves stronger than promotion, though...and people are different (even if there is much confusion over how they are different)...truly though, all the best to D rider!

There's no way in hell Harley will believe it, but I'll say it anyway. I wish him well. I hope he, and I, and everyone will always try to learn something from events like this.

People will always read my reactions to his comments and think I hate(d) him. They'd have to look me in the eye to know it's never been that way for me. I will never hate him. I reacted to his offerings here yes, but I would take the same stance against anyone who behaves as he does. If anyone ever appears here to take his place....with the same modus operandi....I will speak out in the same way. It's the speech, not the person, I react to.

Words on a page are never a true indication of the person behind them, but the person speaking them is still accountable nonetheless. Those who provoke ceaselessly do sometimes have to be dealt with for the good of the whole.

Maybe Harley will one day become famous for converting massive numbers of people to raw veganism. That would be fantastic, seriously. I do think he will stand a better chance, though, with a bit less vehemence and a lot more willingness to simply be a wonderful and peaceful (but strong) role model.

Pushing people to change is a lot less effective than simply being that which they are attracted to becoming.

I have never found Harley to be attacking of people personally, he calls a spade a spade and is very blunt which some people find uncomfortable, and I probably wouldn't say what he says myself, and would not want the attack on me that he gets so I do admire him because he says it as it is, knowing that it is not politically correct and what is wrong with freedom of speech. I don't get it.

There have also been a lot of personal attacks on Harley

Certain of his qualities have been admirable. Some dreadful. This has been going on for a long time here. It was bound to end and DR knew it. For every action....a reaction, I'd say.

BTW: I think freedom of speech is a right in public spaces under certain conditions. This forum isn't owned or operated by the public though. It's controlled by a person who decides how they want it to be.

I posted my number up for everyone to see, call me if you feel someone is being mistreated. That's what people do when DR posts.

p.s. I've gotten more calls about DR than anyone else. This is over the lifetime of GI2MR.

I'd like to know how DR still has time to ride his bike with all the time spent posting the hell out of various forums. I don't even have the time to read all of it. Recently it's become like "a handful of people and DR throwing compost at each other 24/7" so I'm glad if people take time off from that now.
Of course forums are here to talk and discuss. But I think it's been a lot of the same stuff.

There was no mention of a higher standard...go read his original comment. Who is telling you this?

Why are we even giving energy to ANY of this? Time to get outside.

2) "held anthony to a higher standard" is such corporate speak. You don't hold people to higher standards by being a jerk.

3) Freela, the problem wasn't the "Fuck" the problem was DR tone and the fact that he thinks he is here to be the savior of others.

What Harley does is putting his criticism in a humorous way. Strangely, some people would think: Oh my god how mean is that!, he doesn’t agree with me then he even puts it as a joke. I’ve been “attacked” I must leave this site.
People progress and ideas grow only after being challenged. Here is what should be prohibited and what makes me offended: meaningless filling of posts with unnecessary arguments. Most of the rally against him comes from “super food” salesmen or from narcissists full of ego who think that by challenging their ideas, they have to spend the whole day filling posts with nonsense. What kind of posts do you want in your site? Posts like: Where do you get your super foods from?. do you eat your eggs with black pepper or not? just not to upset anyone.
You said you got many calls. Do you think that is too hard on super foods pathetic salesmen and egotists to do?
What if you got calls asking you to keep him? How many votes do you need?

I'm so amazed at people who defend Harley's behavior!
I know a lady who has had lawsuits against her last three neighbors. She just seems to always move next to people who cause problems. If you move around the country and have problems with all your neighbors, maybe YOU'RE the one with the problem!
If you can't go on a forum and not have a disproportionate amount of people annoyed and offended and hurt by you, maybe something you're doing is way off base.

Harley's behavior has NOTHING to do with "conviction" and "integrity", esp. when he makes comments like "I never personally attack anyone" or "I attack the behavior, not the person". Well, to him, the behavior apparently IS the person, so he's being disingenuous right there! Masking aggression with "humor" is not mature. Just because you say something in a humorous tone doesn't mitigate the content!
People like that he "calls a spade a spade"- well, I'm calling THIS spade. If it quacks like a duck and walks like a duck...
