Give it to me Raw

Hi all,
Not a nice discussion I know but I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on this.

For a while now when having a bowel movement, I am getting a rather dark/black hardish, crinklely looking movement, and then the rest is soft/loose, could this be mucosal plaque? its been like this for a long time now getting little concerned.

Any help would be great

It may very well be all the crap that's been stuck to the walls of your intestines for years, or as you say mucosal plaque.

Could be the junk from your trunk finally letting go. I would get a colonic and let the therapist shed some light on your poo, and also if it is plaque from burgers' past, it probably wouldn't hurt to get a good flush.

Everybody poops : )

I sorta wanted to announce this to the world via my blog page, but never did, so I'll just say it here. It was huge for me. (not the poop LOL)

I did a Juice fast in Sept for 7 days, and I did daily enemas, plus 2 colonics during that time.
I thought that should do it, right.?

Well, a few weeks ago I hit a really hard time with depression. I felt really crappy, spacey, hard time getting anything done (focusing), sad, tired, just cranky. Then about 9 days ago I got a headache. On day 2 of my headache, a week ago-last Sunday, I just decided, what the heck, I'm going to do an enema, to see if the headache is detox, or if it'll go away. So I did. Actually did 1/2 bag, let it out, then another whole bag, each with a pinch of good salt. Afterwards I felt immediately 89% better! The headache mostly went away within 1/2 hour. Then on Monday morning my brain felt clear, and all the symptoms listed above were gone!!

It was truly amazing, and now I know that Enemas are good for me. I had been a little confused by people saying the body wasn't made to put water in the other end. Now I know they are full of crap. (most likely literally, too. LOL) NO offense to anyone who believes that. It may be true, when we were originally created, but after a crappy diet, I think the body needs a little help along.

Just thought I'd share.

Thank you so much for your replies all, I'm going to have a look at having a colonic. I did do an enema about a week ago which I found I was having diarrhea for the rest of the week, things have calmed down now though.
I do eat 80-90% raw only have one small steamed meal a day. I don't eat nuts anymore raw zi I know they don't agree with me. I've been looking into what I have been eating, I do eat alot of blueberries & I do eat raw chocolate most days & I do eat alot of sea veg a day too. I do have a couple of thin slices of sprouted grain bread a day too don't know if its that, Oh well, I'll go with it and see if I can find a good therapist.

Thank you again

Love & light Ju

Hey Julie,

Are you dehydrated? It could be old impacted bowel matter, yes, though Im not sure I believe in mucosal plaque. How much water do you drink per day? What specifically do you eat per day and how much?

Take care

Hey Julie,

Theres a lot of insoluble fibre in there, and not much soluble fibre. Both are necessary for proper bowel functioning. Soluble fibre comes primarily from fruits, and is the one that takes up water and adds bulk. Its possible your stools are drying up a litle due to the lack of soluble fibre. I also took the liberty of doing a nutrient analysis of your diet as I was a little concerned.

Its only an approximation due to the lack of specificity of the sprouted seeds, but heres what I got:

1519 calories (where you need more like 2000-3000 calories minimum depending on activity levels)
total protein 34g (where you need more like a minimum of 50g)
many of the amino acids individually were low, but especially methionine, which was only 400mg, where it should be more like 600-1000 for a female.
B5 was abit low though not significantly.

Your calcium intake was very low at 450mg (shuold be more like 800-1000mg)
your Iron intake was very low at 12mg (for a female you should really be looking at 17-19mg)
Your selenium was low at 25mcg, where it should be more like 45-55mcg minimum
Yuor Zinc was very low at 6.4mg where it should be a minimum of 9.5mg as a female, and anywhere upto 15mg

On the plus side your omega 3 and 6 were both very high,. at around 11grams each. (where you only need about 2-3g omega 3 and 3-4 omega 6)

Your protein and and omega 3 and 6 will actually be even lower though though, which is especially a concern for protein intake, because if you undereat on calories, protein and fat will be broken down to glucose for fuel, rather than being used as amino acids and fatty acids.

All the vitamins and minerals Ive not mentioned above are very good though, and so didnt need mentioning.

If you want help or advice planning a diet with more soluble fibre and nutrients feel free to give me a shout.

Take care

Hi adam,

Cheers for that, I did forget to mention that I do take alot of vegan vitamins, My multi vit has in it the ones you mentioned,158mg calcium, zinc 10mg iron 15mg,methinine 50mg. Vit c 150mg
calcium suppliment contains 333mg, I also take glucosamine, echinacea, 1500mg vit C Digestive aids,

I'm still concerned with what you have brought forward though, as my friend/dietishion said I was lacking in amino acids, where do I get them raw,? she was saying for me to have cooked grains/lentals.
I know my hormones are out of balance to & she said its because othe lack of aminos?

How much maca would you recomend me taking to get a good dose of calcium as I do have osteoporisis, I read very good for it.

I also forgot to mention the greens powder I have in the morning has vits in too
And I don't eat the same every day, I usually make up green soups.

How much more fruit would you recommend? I eat 3-4 apples a day I spend £15 on apples a week £9 on blueberries a week which is a struggle.

I also try to food combine as best as I can, I'm not good on dried fruits of anything fermented!

I do find it hard to eat alot more than what I do, I am underweight I weigh 6st 8 I would like to gain weight but with out stuffing me face!, what would be ideal if I could build me self up a bit, make meself more stronger.

Any ideas & help adam would be greatly apreciated

Julie,

Youre welcome. Its important to remember that Supplements are not meant to substitute a deficient diet. They are supposed to be there as a back-up system. we are still supposed to get sufficient calories and nutrients from food!

It really doesnt matter how many amino acids you consume at the moment to be honest, because your caloric intake is so low that your body will likely use most of them as calories, rather than amino acids. I think the important thing for you is to increase your intake of calories as a whole.

As far as your bones are concerned, eating calcium will do very little if you dont eat enough calories, and supplemental calcium has been shown to be relatively ineffective at treating and preventing worsening of osteoporosis. Im not saying stop taking them, thats up to you and your dietician, but Im just saying dont rely on them for support! Whats important for you right now is that you get some calories in you and get building up to doing some strength training/weight bearing exercises (this of course will require you to eat more calories to get more amino acids).

Echinacea should also not be taken on a daily basis. Are you currently sufferring a cold? Is this a short term thing? Echinacea stimulates one part of the immune system whist weakening others.

My recommendation would be that you stop using maca, which affects your hormones. Never take ANYTHING that affects your hormones is my advice. Maca is not a food, it is another supplement. If you are struggling to afford to buy real food its because youre wasting so much money on non-foods. Green powders, aloe vera, maca, chocolate, linseed oil, goji berries plus all your other supplements. These are all expensive and unnecessary in my opinion. Your priorities right now have to be to take in real food. I mean vitamin C? You're eating a raw vegan diet (or mostly)...fruit is natures best source of the stuff :o)

Blueberries are very expensive, I agree. Theyre great for you, but perhaps we could focus on some more calorically dense foods to get your nutritional status up?

If you like, you are welcome to give me a message privately and we can create a diet plan that will contain enough calcium, calories, amino acids and be affordable.

Take care
