Isn't that weird as hell? All other berries (except for cranberries and currants) as far as I know are very alkaline foods. So its do to the soil they grow in? Oh well I wont abandon them :) We do need a a balance between alkaline and acids any way.

That is a really good thing! That means it is a pretty hardy plant like the goji berry. Now that you mention it I am going to try and grow some next year. We already have blackberries pretty close to my house so I feel blest :)

Hands down my fav berry is mulberry! Sweet and delicious. Inca berries are amazing too. They are like sweet and tart at the same time. Its hard to explain :)

I think of gojis as medicinal as well- that's why I eat them. You only need a little handful. They are the only known food that contain a polysaccharide complex that stimulates the release of HGH. I found organic gojis at Vitacost for less than $13/lb!

I LOOOOOVE blueberries, though! I used to live near all the big blueberry farms in MI. They grow well in sandy soil. I bought a 10 lb. flat last summer for around 22.00:) Maybe they're acidic because they're not totally ripe- the ones where I used to live were always way sweeter than the ones (same brand, even) that I get in Nashville.

I was told about goji berries and ending up finding some at the local Chinese supermarket..to my surprise they aren't very tasty-eekkk..but I add them to my green smoothies for some chewy-ness....can someone tell me what they are good for??

Oh wow most of the goji berries at the Chinese markets are usually poor quality. Most are sprayed with pesticides and coated with sulphites in order to preserve them. Thats probs why they dont taste too great. Make sure you get organic whenever possible and taste the diff. Goji berries are unusually high in protein and provide all essential amino acids. It is amazing to see a berry being a complete protein. Goji berries medicinal qualities come from their high levels of polysaccharides which is also found in the medicinal mushrooms. I know there a lot of people who dont agree with the term "medicinal" or "supplement" but in this day and age we need as much immune support as we can get. We are no longer in "The Garden of Eden" and we are constantly being bombarded by destructive frequencies and chemical toxins. So you can see that immune system supporting foods are very important.

oh boy, I guess I'll have to find them elsewhere. Any suggestions on where to pick some up that are organic??? I live in South Florida..so hopefully there are some around...

I have tried all the above and these are really awesome tasting gojis. So take you pic :) Also you could ask you local health store to order them in for you so you dont hafta pay for the shipping.
