Does anyone have any info on blenders.. I have a very cheap one bought from a local grocary store but Im not sure if its ideal for green smoothies.. there not that smooth and they have too many bits in them.
I dont normally mind but Im interested in Victoria Boutenko's 'Green For Life' book..
She states that "in order to get nutrients from greens, every cell of the green leaf has to be ruptured"
Would this mean a more fit for purpous blender is needed? any recommendations on what type?
I also used a cheap blender for a while, and it served me very well. But like you, I couldn't blend greens very effectively. they were just not coming out very smooth, and forget about blending celery!
So I bought a Blend Tec. yes it is very expensive. but since I use it everyday, It was worth it for me. It makes great green smoothies, no matter what kind of greens I put in, or how much, it does the job.
I've also heard that the Vitamix brand is great. Similar price, amazing reputation. I personally opted for the blend tec mainly because it's not so huuuge.
Just checked..£450 for the cheapest Blend Tec !!! might stick with lumpy smoothies for just now.. im a poor student you see, rich in soul but short on hard cash. surely the government should provide some kind of public service for this kind of thing!!
I don't think this exists for humans yet, unfortunately - but what I think would be the healthiest mattress (and virtually free of dust-mites, even bed-bugs which inflict some homes recently) for humans would be the same as the healthiest for pets...
