Give it to me Raw

I just took my friend for his first raw dinner and now he is ALL about the raw, which is great fun. So much so that he wants to have a raw picnic for the 4th. What are your all time fav raw recipes that would travel and hold up well on a picnic? I want it to be super delicious, festive and fun!

Noro rolls with avocado, sprouts, peppers and miso.......Yum. Garnish with corriander and edible flowers...also, if you have a dehydrator, do some kale chips (marinate in sesame oil, lemon and salt, then lay out on sheets and dehydrate for around 6 hours..... Make some truffles with the pulp from nut mylk...almonds work well, blend with carob, honey or agave, dates, lacuma or mesquite, vanilla and maybe some goji's and cardamon.....rioll into balls and either put in freezer or dehydrator......enjoy x

I second nori rolls, I've been out of sheets for a while and I'm missing them for summer! Also, a nice thin based pizza might be good with a salad for new to raw folk.

I'm loving the tips! I was already thinking pizza, so I'm happy to have that seconded...I do have a deyhdrator...and some nori rolls. I'm excited! I will take pics and share what I come up with! Any fav desserts? That don't need to be in the freezer? That seems to be a common limiting factor. xo

You probably don't want to bring any prepared foods that will get soggy (pizza might not last long). I like to pack preped lettuce leaves, a nut pate, prepped veg etc. and then everyone can make there own lettuce wraps. Keeping it all separate helps everything stay fresher longer. HOWEVER- a good one that will last a few hours are collard rolls. Take your collard leaf and spread on a cashew cheese or hummus, add sprouts, shaved carrot and red pepper. Roll up and wrap in plastic wrap - that will last a few hours. Krispy Kale, Popcorn Califlower is great to. Don't forget a simple desert like cashew whip and strawberries!

Happy Forth!

More great tips, thanks! I was thinking about packing the pizza all separate, and then we would make them together on our picnic blanket! We'll see...and I'll post pictures to share the outcome!

Do you have a fav nut pate recipe? I've never made one, but love the lettuce wrap idea.

I don't think this exists for humans yet, unfortunately - but what I think would be the healthiest mattress (and virtually free of dust-mites, even bed-bugs which inflict some homes recently) for humans would be the same as the healthiest for pets...
