I haven't even tried them - I get a reaction to honey that sounds similar, so I steer clear of been products and have for years.

One time I thought I had a reaction to it, but it turned out to be acai....apparently a lot of people are allergic to this.

Yes! I get itchy tongue and throat and sometimes burning if I eat honey or any bee related product. Well bee pollen is ok in small doses but ugh, just can't do anything else. When people have a severe allergic reaction to bee stings their tongues swell up so I always thought it was a mild reaction to the bee. So I don't go near them. Don't like the taste of honey anyway so it is all good!

sounds like an allergic reaction. Mine started out like that, but got worse every time I tried it.... even in small doses. If you take your pulse before you eat something, then again 10 min to 30 min later and your pulse is at least 10 beats faster a minute, that could tell you if you are having a reaction.....(won't always be the case though, caffeine, etc) after a few tries my throat started filling with mucous and got constricted. I wouldn''t tempt the fates with this one :(. I would also stay away from raw honey that is really opaque... the stuff with beeswax and pollen mixed in. aka the good stuff.

Thanks Chicory! That's good advice! The pulse idea is a good one!

I havent experienced any reactions from either products, I'm assuming its your first try with them? With propolis you only need a small dose. Start of small with both (1/4 tsp) if you want to try it again. How much did you use?

I shot almost a whole dropper full of the propolis into my mouth- wow that really burned!

The pollen I put maybe 2 tbs in a big smoothie..

yeah you should start of slowly an d build up, if you want to continue with it.

Eating bee pollen with help with seasonal allergies, especially local bee pollen. So that is probably what it is, maybe if you eat it in smaller amounts and slowly eat more you will build a tolerance. Or switch brands.

I had a smoothie with one table spoon of bee pollen half an hour ago. Result:
Half my lip swollen very rappidly, I could litterally feel it grow. I now feel tingly all over, and it feels slightly constricted to breath. I do have a grass pollen allergy, but I had understood it that bee products could actually halp aliviate allergic reactions. I´m not touching bee pollen ever again!

I've met some hit chix on GITMR. Not satisfying in the least. Just the opposite. Most communication is self-defeating, accomplishes nothing. I would love it if people would leave me alone when I'm out and about. Anybody else?

Mariam, watching this raises questions: for instance, is this guy just an actor? Seems like it. "Am I glad I went"? Well, in the sense that I knew I had to see him eventually.....I guess I got it over with (and used up my airline credit). Is he a...

Thank you Wrenn that is what I thought too and your comments are very helpful! I think it would also be cool at $.99 for 5 TOTALLY new raw recipes and then it can be a series of them at $.99 each...thanks for your comment!
