Give it to me Raw

It seems to me that most people who eat raw either eat all animal foods (meat, dairy, eggs) or all plant foods. Does anyone else here eat some of both? I personally eat mostly raw vegan with some raw animal products. My intake by percentages looks like 85% raw plant food, 5% steamed veggies and herbal teas, and 10% raw animal foods. The raw animal foods I eat are dairy, insects, shell fish, eggs and some fish.
Please share your experiences as raw omnivores/raw vegetarians (not vegans).

That's wonderful news about your son's nervous system improving. Also, his diet sounds delicious. I like fruits and butter. How old is your son, and what was wrong with his nervous sysem, if you don't mind me asking?

Yes, I'm slowly starting to experiment with these new aspects of my diet. What motivated me? rampant dental caries! Ugh! but I'm optimistic. I get a weird numbness and tingling in my hands. I just strongly feel that eating locally raised, high quality animal food from very grateful farmers had got to be a lot better for me than tropical fruit imported from far away that's possibly irradiated.

I drank about ten ounces of raw goat's milk for breakfast this morning. I felt great, better than my typical morning green smoothie. My energy was very sustained; I was able to do gardening for hours. This is worth experimenting more with.

Do you have any idea why green smoothies would do that?

Maybe a few years ago when I first started drinking green smoothies and got an energy rush, it may be have been that they simply replaced cheese omelettes!

Hi Sistina, yes I remember you from rft. That's great about the goat's milk. Was it just plain raw goat's milk, or did you ferment it first? I find that if I don't make my milk into a kefir or yogurt then it just sits in my stomach and doesn't digest. But yogurt and kefir can be very energizing. I also find green smoothies energizing, as long as they don't have too much fruit in them. Best wishes to you!

I haven't had the desire or need to go back to eating any animal products. It's been 30 years and still love the smell of a BBQ that is meat driven, but not a desire to eat it. I love eating only plant based foods. It works for me great and same for hubby. So many great dishes to make, feel great, never sleepy, no disease as aging gracefully as an AARP generation lady, over 50 that means, so why change now for me? I don't want to live in doctors offices, support their fatter wallets getting wider, help them create more drugs each and every day, numb people who don't choose to get further educated on options...so I'm HOOKED on raw or whatever % I choose to be each day. Mostly all raw, but if I desire a steamed veggie I'm good with that. I choose my decisions each and every moment of the day. So more than you asked for but my position on why plant based only eating. Now speak to my dog Molly, an Akida, she's on game meat for years and raw of course. If no game, then she hates but gets chicken mix. She does eat tuna. She's 10 and acting like a pup still. No medical bills from her. I could have a dozen or more dogs as I give them the right environment, love them, and they love me back in many ways. I choose to be the best caretaker right now to just one. Have had 4 I believe at one time too. Regardless, I'm your doggie lover.

I eat almost exactly as you have described. Except I don't eat insects but I really want to learn more about that. Please share any knowledge you might have of how to transition into eating insects, because I find that fascinating!

Hi, I just started the raw paleo diet from a transition period of three weeks. This I did from the Low Carb, High Fat diet. That one sapped my energy to much though it gave me some benefits.
Before that I struggled for years with raw, gave it up and started to eat 'normal' again, gained weight, got all the diseases back.
On raw i also developed irregular heart problems, shortness of breath, panic attacs, binge eating (???), extreme pain in jaws, teeth falling apart and falling out, split teeth (???), bleeding gums, poor vision, insomnia due to breads and gluten (I'm still allergic to sprouted grains, root veggies, soy, kiwis, pine apples, argh) Just didn't know what to eat when raw vegan didn't do the trick. When off gluten, I sleep like a baby. Anyway, as long as I stick to raw paleo, I'm doing just fine! Got my life back! It was hard at first. I love animals but my body was falling apart, literally. My hair for one thing. It turned sickly gray and fell off. At age 40? Now, I see my natural hair coming back, my famous curls...my vision : I don't need reading glasses anymore on just a few days on the diet...As soon as I eat exotic fruits, the pain starts in my teeth again. I also discovered that I need to eat like this every day without failure. I can't skip one raw meal with meats or substitute it. I have to meals per day; minced meat with raw eggs or some reindeer of some kind, from Lapland. I never use salt; it makes my legs to swollen and hurting, not even rock salt etc. Heavy cream was good at first but I stopped since its been heated and makes my skin oily and smelly of the cream. Over all, this means that I can eat fruits and berries: when they are in season and grow where I live. I buy meat from my own country, only. Raw Milk, I'll try from a local organic farmer, it will help my teeth a little more, or I'll just stick to raw liver! Yummie!
Love and Peace, Lena

I'm mostly raw. I don't eat dairy and lost my appetite for eggs but I like an occasional steak tartar, sashimi, or grilled salmon. I probably eat these products 3x/week and they are usually organic and never processed,
