Hmmm, at this point Rawzilla, I think we are Wai, Wai off course! Does anyone else know the Wai back?? Hee, hee. Told you I didn't sleep last night! :) I can't Wai-t to get off work! :)
In search of the most suitable raw diet for me, I think Im going to give this one a fair shot, with my own tweaks included. I will not use any pressed oils, just avocado and small amounts of raw fish and egg yolks for fat. If I can get a hold of raw cane juice I may include that as well. Im pretty sure that small amounts of leafy greens are "allowed" also. Ill give it a trial run and post my findings. Let the Wai adventure begin:)
Actually, I didn't know about this diet, but I followed something very close for some time (I ate greens and seaweed). However, my digestion wasn't so great and I particularly had trouble with the raw eggs.
And nuts have plenty of antinutrients...anything that doesn't want you to eat it does...nuts, seeds, leaves, etc. Nuts are also pretty hard to digest in general. Most native peoples that subsist on them process them to increase digestibility.
And it's BS that berries are meant for birds, so we shouldn't eat them. Avocadoes are meant for extinct sloth-creatures (it's true!), but we can still benefit from them.
I definitely agree with the berries BS, doesnt make much sense when the nutritional value is pretty obvious. Fresh organic berries are pretty hard to come by in Hawaii, so I rarely eat them anyway. Im not intending to follow this strictly by the book. All of that olive oil sounds so gross! But I suppose the diet consisting of mostly fruit, and then some nuts, fish and the occasional egg yolk naturally appeals to me. Ill have greens, but I recently realized that I just dont like eating them in huge amounts, I develop an aversion to them. Im just taking what I like from the diet and trying it on. Im very experimental and like trying all of the different food combos and plans available. Otherwise I may never discover what really works best for me individually.
I dont know if this Wai person has any merit. I really dont care because the gurus are all selling something. Claiming that one size fits all in any diet is honky. I just like the idea of high fruit, some fat and raw protein, and greens from time to time. I think if it appeals to you naturally then you should go for it. I plan on eating lots of fruit for breakfast, avocado salads with tomato, cucumber and chives with lemon, and one small portion of raw fish and/or one or two egg yolks. A handful of Brazil or macadamias for a snack. That doesnt sound so far fetched to me. O yeah, and the Wai guidlines also allows an occasional "munch meal" of your choosing, which will probably consist of raw dates for me. Yummy.
I have a stomach of steel so digestion shouldnt be an issue to me, but if it becomes an issue then Ill bail.
I found it looking for acne solutions, and it has lead me to raw foods.
While Wai makes a great deal of sense (yes I knew that Wai was not actually "Wai," but a guy from Amsterdam) I think there are flaws in his approach which has lead me to trying 801010
It makes sense that we are to eat mostly fruits, not vegetables (most are unedible until cooked) and contain no flavors or caloric importance, leaves are somewhere in between
Something I cannot make any assumptions about is the fat - while yes, humans may have eaten raw animals - it is still unknown how important or damaging raw fats may be (this of course goes to say that they are not concentrated as oils are) but a few raw egg yolks are the most nutritionally well rounded food one could possibly eat. Yet, the argument that can be made is that would man have known to separate yolk from white? This leads to raw fish - probably the most possible raw animal that early man ate along with maybe rodents or insects.
I don't agree with the juicing in Wai's diet, the concentration and quicker absorption seems as if it can cause problems, as well as not properly combining
yet, combining is kind of a stupid thing also if we're trying to be like early man - because the assumption is that they ate what was there (they most likely didn't find apple and banana trees conveniently next to each other - they grow in different climates)
As I have gotten a wicked case of candida - I think there is a great deal of value to the 8/1/1 point that fat induces a large insulin response blocking sugars from getting to cells - which is why I'm mono-mealing and seeing if no fat works.
(which Wai introduces to some extent - but is more about balancing blood sugar)
As far as how it worked - acne got better (but still there and additional problems like bumpiness began) - I also hope that low fat will work for the candida - and I can then say that the concentrated, or high amounts of fats on the diet are problematic
*I must note that - Wai makes very interesting arguments in many areas of health - such as high amounts of calcium being the cause of osteoperosis due to over-regeneration of osteoblasts. The excess proteins causing water retention which causes a handful of skin problems like acne. He uses the logic and common sense in going "raw" but approaches the diet in a modern way (concentrations of fats and sugars)
My feet blistered up when I first started barefoot running I started out on concrete, and found my natural method of running was on the balls of my feet. It kills your calves for the first few weeks but they adapt fast, the endurance increases in ...

Loren, the inorganic minerals and trace minerals that are vital to human function inside sea salt are transformed into organic forms by our bodies. Without sea salt, there is basically no way you get all the trace minerals we know and don't know w...
hi magical
I use to fast before I was a raw vegan so I did not feel I needed to detox first. But everyone is different. I think if someone is doing drugs and other things they might want to wait to do a long fast.
I love jumping rope and how it makes me feel. I love the way it makes my heart beat really fast, and the over-all energizing effects it creates in me.
I think variety in exercise is super beneficial... soft and hard, stillness and movement, slow ...

Thanks for your input but I did not ask for any advice about fasting. I have done many many long term fasts and I know what I am doing. I am not telling anyone else what to do I am just telling people what I am doing. You do not need to own ...
