Give it to me Raw

As i have just come off 811,12 months all 811...i am transitioning to lower fruit for health reasons...

i see alot of peeps eating lower fruit, yet i want to know if anyone seriously trains like i do,and how they eat and how they find their energy?

i find i must have some sweet fruit, have cut wayyyy down on my consumption, feeling really good actually, yet i can imagine cutting it down further,i am blogging my progress how im doing.

thanks for reading and for any of your future input :)

Hi Rawgreengoddess,

Could you give us a sample of your daily diet please :)

I am also wanting to eat high greens with little or no fruits,
I cant figure out what to eat or when to eat.

hey Paulie...i have a blog where i am writing in what i eat most days..

interesting little test last night....i ate dinner really early like 5pm....and thought thats it i will just go to bed early, well it so happens i stayed up later, and at 11pm i decided ohh i will have an apple and a pear...well i had it,it tasted so sweet and i enjoyed it for a moment, and then,i got really irritable as my blood sugar rose then fell abruptly and i felt so cranky :)
then i remember this is how i use to feel all day long,up then down, sad then happy....i ate a few pumpkin seeds to try and dampen down the sugar buzz feeling...

my one little slip up..

aside from that doing very well..Hubby says im not so dark under my eyes now,he was really worried as i got darker and darker under my eyes, eating 811...deficiencies suck hey...

great to have you all on here sharing and caring its awesome :)

i wont cut fruit right out,as i find a small amount very beneficial and have most of the fruit intake in the morning, and sometimes at lunch if im not eating a big salad.

Paul, what are you eating at the moment?are you active?are you eating all raw or transitioning?

Sorry to hear about your little slip-up but hey at least you are learning what your body can and can't handle.
I could eat an apple and a pear, no problem. But 3 or 4 bananas no way.
I know it's not considered good food combining, but have you tried putting a little raw almond butter on your apple? The fat might slow the sugar spike.

thanks Rawstrength~soon as i felt the spike i grabbed a small handful of pumpkin seeds, this helped fairly quickly, but i still felt a bit seedy...now that im feeling so much better,i notice when i feel really out of whack, for instance in this situation,i just felt so wrong within my body...

I use to always feel like this and thought it was 'normal' for me...

Thanks for the encouragement.xo

You are quite the athlete. Fantastic. I am recovered from the crash and have been done 4 road races this year and one mtn bike race next month. Never tried maca. I will though. I eat 5 fruit meals a day, one veggie meal and Chipotle is a burrito place here. All fresh, local produce. They also are a sponsor of the Garmin/Slipstream pro road team. Do you have a good juicer. Blender, a must. I often make carrot juice and put about 1/2 lb, 200 or more grams, of Spinach into it, 1/2 avocado, very good. Gotta eat greens too I feel. Some other resources for you are Organic athlete. I am a member, you should be too. Running Raw is good. Lots of elite vegan athletes out there. Scott Jurek is great. Are you in Australia? There is a mtn biker, veganbob, that crushes in 24 hr races. I am veganrob. ha.
Good luck to you. I am new to this site and I see you post a lot. Great

I am relatively new to this - my goals maybe diff. from yours .. but this is what I am find working for me ...

I make a huge smoothie in the morning - 2 bananas, 1 cup berries, 1 cup papaya, Udo's 369 oil, flax, 2 servings of hemp protien, 1 scoop of Trader Joes Greens, 1 tbsp Cocunut oil, some stevia. - this makes 40 oz of smoothies - enough for all morning.

snack is fruits and almond butter

in the winter I like to get in mid day rides - a couple times a week

lunch is a large salad - lots of greens, some nuts, avacados

dinner - I tend to be less raw since I try to blend w/ family - but still vegan

You're suppose to be able to pick the leaf out of the middle - and it comes out realllllllll easy - if it's ripe. It should smell ripe too.

It's actually surprisingly easy once you get the hang of it. No machete required. Shave off the husk at the pointed top close to the shell. Then poke the point of a knife in about 2 or 3 cm out from the centre and wiggle it about until it pierces ...

Yes, I believe two out of the four pineapples I've had the last several months have been alright with me, after having let them "ripen" for some days. The one that turned out the best was one I stored in a bag of ripening bananas. I did the same t...
