since my partner and I have gone raw 100%...we dont burn...infact i spend more time in the sun than before and i forgot whats its like to burn...when i was a cooked fooder i would burn fast, Here in NZ the sun is supposed to be harsher due to the ozone hole...
all the food we eat is grown in the sun and does not get sunburn...We juice kikuyu grass also which is fire resistant and as the saying goes....
we are what we eat...so we gain the properties.
I believe the epidemic of skin cancer is due to cooked food and junk food diet then as you sweat out the toxins ya rub on sun screen and the toxins cant escape and then we begin to compost.
coconut oil and lemon juice is good to rub on the skin....spirulina is also a good internal sun protector...
also daily exposure to the sun (wisely) is our best protection.. Vitamin D
Lavender oil is good for sunburn if you have gotten too much...
I completely agree with you on this matt. When i was a 100% raw fooder plus grass juice i never got sun burn. I would work in the sun (in hawaii) for 6 plus hours and wouldn't burn at all. It was awesome =)
When I changed from SAD, I first went macrobiotic and began eating more fruits and vegetables. I noticed within months I no longer turned red if I exposed myself to the sun. I am very fair skinned so this had always been a problem.
There are 3 chemicals in red and/or orange vegetables (never read they were in fruits) that help the body prevent sunburn. One is lycopene and I forget what the other two are called. According to studies, the body uptakes these nutrients regardless of whether the food is eaten raw or cooked. Most studies found lycopene in particular may be more bioavailable when cooked in an oil base.
Cacao butter is the best whole food sunscreen in the world. Eating lots of fruits can help from burning, i forget how this works but, the fruits sugar somehow metabolizes through your skin with sun exposure.

I've heard that coconut oil works really well too. I don't burn but I have just come back from a couple of days in Jamaica. All of my (airline) crew were using these waterproof, bug repellant etc... sunscreens, I just filled up on plenty of fruit, drank my own weight (and then some) in coconut water, kicked back and enjoyed the rays. Needless to say my fellow crew were left covered in nasty rashes, sunburn...
Be sure to put plenty of cocoa butter or something similar on your skin after sun exposure.

I too have heard that consuming plenty of coconut water and oil will help prevent burning - to the point where you don't even need to apply the oil to your skin.
That is not true. Cacao that has been sun-dried has lost about 80% of it's whole food value just like anything else that is dried or dehydrated. The best thing I have found is using Fresh-picked Aloe and applying it right to your skin. Do let a marketers research deny the healing power of true whole foods picked fresh right from the plant.
The first few times I get some decent summer sun exposure I'll put a little organic shea butter on my ears and nose to prevent burning. I think it's naturally spf 10. I also limit my full body exposure to ensure that I don't burn but build a tan which will protect me and allow me to go toxic sunscreen free for the rest of the summer.
Only because Suvine asked me to.
I have almost no idea what qualifies as soft rock, but if most of the music here is any indication, that's probably because I don't actually like soft rock. For the most part. Does Queen qualify as soft rock? I ha...
I just looked up the Magic Bullet on youtube and it had a ton of bad reviews lol.
I think I'll save up a little more and get a blender/food processor combo. Is 750 watts good? I have one already I got from my Granddad and it's really old and 600 ...
