i never thought that agave would be a better subsitute for sugar, and for those who are using liquid stevia- i don't think it' s such a good idea either. better use whole stevia...i mean think about it people...what has to be done to stevia leaf to get white powder of clear liquid, stevia in this form is not any better than sugar. if you have to use a sweetener use green stevia powder or whole leafs are the best. ...and i'm just gonna stick to my fruits to sweeten my life :)
Raw Honey is great from New Zealand or Canada... otherwise most likely contaminated with GMO.. If you can "feel" you already know this. By this statement I am not saying all honey from NZ or Can is good.
that's cool! I had problems with the chocolate-raspberry-flavored stevia extract when i was making "soda" (filtered water + sparkling water + flavored stevia); it made my urine this strange color.
Hmm. That's odd. I always feel a little reluctant about that one--even though it's in the fridge right now--because it looks too good to be true (safe)! So far, so good though. What color was your urine?

SyLL- I would guess that the clear stevia is made like any other herbal extract and the powder might be the spray-dried extract, so it may not be so weird.
That being said, I do prefer the unrefined kind (the liquid I use is a dark green-brown and still has a leafy taste) or the fresh leaf because it retains the health benefits that the refined extract doesn't have:)
I think we are talking about sugar substitutes, so we don't really want "good natural sugar" for a diabetes-friendly sweetener--fruit will still affect the glycemic index, unlike stevia.

I like to do fasts as well and I think the power in fasting is that its a remedial action, one part of the process of purifiying. For instance if you feel you have a lot of non-virtuous residue or spiritual obstacles to remove, you generate regret...
Loren,
Was your fast that regained your health a supervised one, and with whom? How long was your fast? What did you eat like before that?
Do you mind me asking what health challenges you were experiencing?
Who did you intern under yourself? I ...

don't agree with the whole raw food creating a damp environment thing because of the wildly different effects of different raw foods. i've found candida to respond to 100% raw, several different approaches.
