does anyone do this? I drink a lot of water (and feel genuinely thirsty often) but feel like my body may not retain a lot of it, because i pee a lot... a friend told me to add a teaspoon of salt to my water once a day... i'm curious about it.
Yeah, I think that premise may have made sense back when our world and people's upbringings were cleaner, but now-a-days, there's a case to be made for more personalized supplementation and dietary prescriptions.
Just eat more celery. Plenty of salt content there. But if you want to add salt to your water, it should be Himalayan or Celtic. The ones labeled just 'sea salt' have had a lot of minerals stripped from them.
I did try that, but since celery has diuretic properties, I think it may have been exacerbating my problem. I do still use that, as well as carrots and tomatoes, as natural sodium sources (since I still try and keep my intake of any sea or Himalayan salt pretty minimal).
sometimes thats a sign of the start of diabetes. so maybe you should check that out?
Young coconut water is the best hydration. it has all the electrolytes you need in it. Plus it tastes super yummy. if your drinking alot. and are peeing alot. you can be loosing alot of the valuable electrolytes!!
the sea salt is a way of adding minerals and the eletrolyte 'Sodium' and I think a few others..? But I don't think it has any potassium which Young coconut water has lots of.
Also. what kind of water r u drinking? are you drinking from the tap?
Young coconut water is awesome, but in many places, the only kind that's available is from the non-organic young Thais that have been dipped in chemical bleaching soup. Such is the case in Minnesota. :(
Raw coconut, as well as coconut oil, both are anti-diabetic insulin stabilizers. My friend no longer takes meds because of this and going high-raw in general.
We should also take into account, if we're talking tap water here, that we have no idea what is in it. The sea salt may help activate...whatever...is supposed to be in good water and re-mineralize it.
Very true. I don't know about Matthew (hope I'm not hijacking your thread!) but mine is tap. We have a basic filter, but it's nothing sophisticated, and I'm currently waiting for the nicer system which will be installed when we start re-doing our kitchen in about a month. Till then, I make do with what I have, and buy as much natural mineral water as possible. I haven't found any local springs yet, although I'm actively working on that as well.
oh yeah there were like 3 judges who really eager to find mistakes in my asanas and other yoga practices that they asked me to perform :)
But i am lucky hahahaha
