I was just curious why I've seen a lot of pictures with people drinking from their mason jars. I think its pretty rad to pull out a jar from your bag and gulp it down. It's almost like seeing someone drink a special elixir. Then again, I guess it sorta is.
From what I remember about mason jars, the lids are metal... but there may be a plastic coating on the inside (to help it seal). I don't think it's much to worry about. Thanks to gravity, your smoothie won't be right against the lid anyway (unless you toss it sideways in your purse... which is probably not a great idea).
I just pulled a mason jar out of my bag and gulped down some elixir here at my desk at work. The woman next to me, of course, was very interested in what I was drinking. She concluded that it looked funny but smelled great. :-)
I am currently on day 15 of my juice feast and have been carrying my mason jars around with me. I was sitting in the emergency room last week waiting to get my teenager's head stapled (snowboarding accident) and I took my mason jar filled with this super dark green juice and started sipping it. You should have seen the people trying to look without "looking." Very cute.
They are great because they hold so much and I don't have to worry about the toxic thing. My only problem is that they don't fit in my car's cup holders
Ah ha. You guys liked my sling huh. I should start selling them online as a Juice Feasting necessity. I am too nice... I'll tell ya. It was actually a store bought sling... maybe at the Christmas Tree shop. The tag on it says Sling-A-Drink.
Hey, anything that makes getting healthy easier I'm for! A mason jar sling would be a nice addition to my wish list. In fact, is there a suggestion for a smoothie/juice holder that includes an ice pack?

Debbie, Oh, I get it now, the mason jar drinking mugs. They're popular at country fairs and what I would call "Americana" style casual restaurants. Particularly in the Southeastern states where I grew up. Sometimes they have their logo etched or printed on them as promotional items. Now if we could just get the manufacturer to put a handle on the quart size for all the smoothie and juice guzzlers! Then we could have them for GITMR gifts at Raw Spirit this summer.
Debbie, I'm pretty sure we have some of those with handles. . . and I don't use them like I do the regular mason jars. . . can you really not find them, and would you really love one??
