Give it to me Raw

~~Melissa

What did you eat and drink today and which superfoods did you use?

I'm newly raw and already feeling great with a lot of juices and smoothies and salads. My next step is to get a better understanding of supplements and superfoods. I'm reading a lot of contradictory information (which I don't actually mind because it tells me that there's no one way for everyone and I know I will indeed find what's best for me), but I know I don't know what I need to know yet, if you follow.

I would love to hear what you ate/consumed today or any recent day, any superfoods and supplements involved, what quantities you use, and, if you care to say, why you chose them. What superfoods are essential for you?

Lately I've been juice feasting. In an average day, I consume: 2 lbs of romaine lettuce, 3 lbs of cucumbers, one grapefruit, one lemon, 3 medium beets with greens, one head of celery, two Granny Smith apples, bananas, raw honey, coconut oil, potatoes, and nut butter. Mmm!

I drank water/lemon after awakening. Then I had a "green lemonade" --- celery, greens apple, lemon, gingerroot. I usually have 1 each day. Later, I had a vegetable smoothie and then about 1:30 had some veggies , 1/2 raw burger and ketchup (from Matt Amsden's Rawvolution) -- had to taste it as I was Uncooking for someone, some mango/avo salad, and a taste of the spinach /cheese quiche (also from his book) --- For dinner , I had a blueberry/peach smoothie --- blueberries are very hard to come by here in the desert and I had to buy frozen ones--- mangos are just coming into season now. Supplements--- Lipase, SBX, 6 Chlorella, vitamineral green,

Today I had:
-a few pieces of dried mango,
- some dried pineapple,
-a banana,
-a salad with walnuts, sprouts, and cucumber. I didn't eat a lot though.
-some guacamole dip (onions, tomato, spices) with cucumber (no success with cucumber chips)
-grapes
-raisins
-two apple pie raw bars
-nuts/seed assortment
-raw kombucha with herbs
-a smoothie with mango, some berries, and blue berries with juice mixed in.

I've basically been eating nonstop today. Today is day number 2 of being raw and I'm never feeling full. The guacamole dip helped a lot thanks to my late night Kroger trip. =)

That is great your body is adjusting to this new diet. Eat what you want and whenever you want. Once your body has cleaned itself out and you adapt, you will get full really fast.- this was my experience. This food is highly concentrated in nutrients. Its a great lifestyle. Enjoy! xo

i drink a lot of kombucha and have lem/msm water every morning--then i just scatter maca, bee pollen, cacao, gojis, spirulina, chlorella, blue-green algae and raw honey throughout my days--spirulina esp. makes me feel so alive and happy

I used ReVitaPhi today from Elements for Life. It gives me all the greens in one drink for the day. i do feel more alive than i did yesterday lol. I think it contains Moringa Olifera. Supposedly the best superfood from africa.

I'm getting my shipment in of goji berries, cacao, maca powder and other stuff from them too. My friend blended a good amount of each superfood in a blender, then filled the rest up with fruit. All you taste is fruit and get all the nutrients in the superfoods. I'll be making my own recipes soon =D

My regular morning Smoothie as usual ,ice, acai, goji, strawberry, blueberries, fresh young coconut water, dash of cayenne, & my essential green super food powders blended 2gether( spirulina, wheat& barley grass, chlorella, kelp& maca) ....Sometime I;ll throw in some raw cacao powder..

I usually scoop out the soft coconut meat, but todays meat was waaaaaaay too firm/hard to put in my smoothie today, so I stored it in the fridge & I just made some coconut cacao mango almond macaroons( added yacon syrup, agave, almond extract& raisins).. Hope they come out tasty.. made 2 trays & in the dehydrator now...

Melissa, I'm fairly new to raw , just like you ( August 14th).. the 1st week.. I ordered green superfood powders (the ones in my smoothie) & mixed them all in one container the way the Rawmodel suggested on one of his videos on youtube ( great idea).. That same week, I ordered raw cacao powder, bought an Excalibur 4 tray ( wish I had gotten the 9 tray tho!!), a spiral slicer, a found Asian stores to buy my coconuts ( which I can't live w/o!!)..

I find that my smoothies & cacao gives me incredible energy till the afternoon .. I LOVE drinking fresh coconut water after working out.. they say its very hydrating and essential in replacing electrolytes...

I';m loving this new raw living & I wish u the very best hun.... Amanda

I drank a carrot-ginger-apple-lemon-juice and ate pumpkin-tagliatelle, mixed with, carrot-tagliatelle, and zucchini-tagliatelle (you can cut them with a potatoe-peeler in thin "like-noodles") in a paprika-galgant-peanuts-pesto with algue-seasalt and pepper and basil and cumin-powder -tasted somekind of indish.
I also ate - during the day - a mango, 6 cactus-fruits, 4 bananas, and red grapes. And I guess i will eat some 2 or 3 kiwis later.

the last days i ate lots of salad, so now i do the tagliatelle-thing this evening.

I don't think this exists for humans yet, unfortunately - but what I think would be the healthiest mattress (and virtually free of dust-mites, even bed-bugs which inflict some homes recently) for humans would be the same as the healthiest for pets...
