i enjoy reading books from all walks of life, and I tend to enjoy the ones that are new and interesting to me. One book that I can say has changed my out look was, of course, The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran. Another great book, which was a short and easy read, but very interesting, is called The Way Of Man: According to the Teaching of Hasidism. I tend to get engrossed in other books such as The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield and the entire series of books by Carlos Castaneda, I think there are twelve of them: Journey to Ixtlan, A Yaqui Way of Kowledge and others... The Way of the PEaceful Warior was a great one and I also enjoyed reading Jonathon Livingston Seagull and Illusions. I would recommend any and all of these. Any thoughts??

the alchemist! mostly this book made me relise that i'm not crazy. i was 17 at the time that i read it and i was starting to think that my thoughts on life were wrong or something becuase nobody around me understood them. it taught me to listen to me heart and have faith in myself. later on i met people who felt the way i did and i meet more of them everyday.

I found Buddhist psychology struck a cord with me. Transpersonal Psychology is a good place to start with the conscious raising stuff that has tried to seperate the mumbo-jumbo from the wisdom in spiritual traditions.

The Wisdom of the Enneagram by Don Riso and Russ Hudson. I dislike the Enneagram a little now because it feels rather pessimistic to me, but it is an amazing tool and has helped me greatly in self-development, becoming aware of myself, to be more objective (to realize that people behave in a negative way towards me as a result of their own ego fixations, so I should seek to help them and not despise them or feel hurt by them) and understanding others.

It really has made my life a lot better. If I had never have found it then I am sure I would have lived the rest of my life unaware that I was doing many things to hold myself back. If I had stayed in ignorance, I would have never have been able to correct what was wrong. So although I feel the Enneagram is a little harsh on my hyper sensitive soul, it is pretty amazing.

The book is fantastic, it has so much information and a great message.

hi magical I use to fast before I was a raw vegan so I did not feel I needed to detox first. But everyone is different. I think if someone is doing drugs and other things they might want to wait to do a long fast.
