Give it to me Raw

Both of these books, by author Eckhart Tolle, are must reads.

Two years ago a raw food magazine interviewed me and asked me what my top 3 raw food books here. My first pick was The Power of Now. And although it has nothing to do with raw food specifically, it has everything to do with everything.

To make real magic happen in life, we first have to live in the present moment. And to get to that place, it's important that we go beyond our condition and stories.

One of the biggest reasons people don't do what they know is good for them is because their stories get in the way. Stories that are based on past experiences.

When I first read The Power of Now, I finally had an opportunity to understand why I was so identified with my ego. Since then (it's been 3 years) my thoughts have been reduced by at least 40% to 50%. How am I measuring that? I measure the level of thoughts I'm having with the amount of worry I carry. I've noticed that since I started watching my thoughts and noticing when I'm not in the present moment, that I've been able to slowly rid of my thoughts. It's the greatest gift I've ever been given.

This is more me sharing my enthusiasm for Eckhart's work and also encouraging you to check it out if you haven't.

With Purpose,
Dhrumil

Dhru, you were the final addition to the long list of people recommding The Power of Now. . i remember you mentioning it at PF&W. . . and ever since I read it (faster than any book ever i think!). . . I can't believe how those words turned into instinctual thoughts. . .and sank into my entire being. Incredible.
Thanks for being authentically you. . .and for being a part of my Now!

ME TOO. . . i'm in the blissful moment of reading the new book. . . and it's even more life changing than the power of now, which i hadn't thought possible. . .

The Power of Now is my favorite book. I re-read it every few months and it is still fresh and just as meaningful as the first time I read it. I would not be on the path I am now without the peace of mind I received from reading the book and taking to heart Eckharts suggestions.

I'm such a big fan I've bought about a dozen copies for friends in the last 3 years. Sometimes I go to sleep listening to some of his audio material.

His presence is profoundly deep and still. I've been fortunate enough to be at Satsang with some of his long term students when they come to London.

I can relate to the reduction in thought levels. It's liberating. Having dinner with him must have been awesome!

his voice is completely soothing, i've heard of a few people going to sleep listening to him. . . i'll try it on those mornings that i wake up full of thoughts and unbridled energy but really would like to rest a bit more!!

Thanks for the recomendation Dhru! I've often looked at the book at the bookstore but have yet to pick it up, maybe now it's time. Out of curiosity, what were the other two books on your list?

Hi Frankie, I think they were David Wolfe's Sun Food Diet Success System and Gabriel Cousens Rainbow Green Live Cuisine.

I enjoyed both of these books as well.
When I first read the Power of Now I didn't understand it. LOL
Yes, it's all about de-programming our minds and letting go of "our stories" :-)

I want to thank you for turning me on to Eckart Tolle. Its funny because many years ago I worked for a new age spiritual magazine and I was surrounded by so many spiritual books, concepts, happenings, healers, that I began to just block it all out! I would just focus on the "old age" stuff - like Buddhism and yoga, but was really not open to new authors such as Tolle. (A story I was telling myself I guess!) When I saw the post on WLIR about Oprah's book club I thought I need to check that out if there is going to be this major cultural awareness toward it b/c of her. Need to see what that is about, you know? I haven't made it very far into Power of Now, but I am happy that I am now open to receive.

I would love to know your plan for escaping mandatory vaccines, but I don't reckon you'll want to post it here. :(

I have never dried them myself, but in France and Italy you can buy them already dried (at what temperature I don't know). It was awhile since I ate them (before I went raw).

My saliva has never commented on how I smell. But my mouth tastes fine. And, in case you were wondering, my various excretions all smell good too!

Lost is same insanely good storytelling, character development. I love how they spend time flashing back to show you the character's demons and how the island is bringing them to face what used to be a big thing for them. Plus, you never know what...
