ok, so maybe I am overstepping by bounds here since I am somewhat of a newbie.
Are there any other terms to decribe your eating habits besides raw foodist?
It seems like there should be a much more creative term to describe ourselves. Like some kind of one word comination like "rawgan". Silly I know, but you know what I mean.
I am truly afraid of terms...
Few days ago I posted an article on my website rawfoodtip.com about me being trapped in a name I shaped for myself : RAWVOLTA.
I am a believer in action, not in static definitions.
It is possible that raw food has this dangerous stigma of a hippie community, because of terms we are using for describing what we do, what we believe in.
I have already felt some sort of attack from people who are not raw or not even vegan and I would say that we are a bit responsible for it.
"Calling names" is helpful of course when we need to present an information about the topic; that's obvious , otherwise how could we explain what and who we are.
But doesn't it exclude us automatically from OTHERS?
I know, I know, there is no simple way to avoid slicing people into groups and grouping them into movements of some sort. How else could we have this wonderful forum going on?
But - if I hear from a person who just met the idea of eating raw that he has a NAME ( a raw food nickname ) picked already, then I get scared, that raw food movement can ended up being a trend ( in a sense... I posted a post on a topic RAW FOOD AND FASHIONHERE
I believe there is no way to escape from calling us names and there is no way to TALK, make FORUMS, give Lectures without using descriptive words.
As long as we stay focused on WHAT TO DO to achieve the peak nutrition performance, the name we use for US does not matter so much.
