Give it to me Raw

Dear beautiful people, raw food lovers,

We come to you today with a very special request for help,
We are starting the raw food “thing” in our own wee part of the world, in a country
where there is only one vegan restaurant to date (my dear friend Anush who
unfortunately has to close now after 7 years), and where only 60 years ago, the one
and only vegetarian restaurant was still called- translated a "root bunker" and the people who went there "grass eaters"... (people went in the back door to avoid being seen) that same place now is one of the most trendy and most frequented restaurants in Zürich.
So much has changed- but the benefits of a vegan lifestyle for health and the
environment are still generally not very well understood, and most of all...
in Switzerland, the land of cheese, once understood there are not many alternative
options for most people in their busy lives.-
We are seeking to change that, by offering raw vegan food for people on the go, workshops and consultations.
Our experience so far is that people are fascinated by the raw gourmet cuisine, where
it seems neither their emotional desire for tasty special comfort foods is neglected, nor their health compromised... in our workshops so far, people have shown much interest, but seem overwhelmed when thinking about what to prepare each day...

From our experience, we believe that one month is all it takes for people to fully feel the benefits of a raw, living vegan diet, we also believe that once the different benefits have been experienced, one can make a much more informed choice about what to eat. And know how one is affected by it. We also believe, that given the choice people are likely to make the highest choice.
So to enable people in this part of the world an easy start to trial a raw food diet for 21-30 days is our aim. We will be publishing a book in Switzerland soon in German and English
And would like to tap your incredible creative talent and include your favourite original recipes one each for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

This would give you some exposure in this part of the world,

And most of all you would be contributing greatly to spreading the raw food movement to Switzerland and neighbouring countries...

If this sparks your interest,

Please send us your original recipes one each for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
With a short description including your full name, what you do and where you live
For the end product, each day will be by a different person

Eg:
Day 1 Luca’s day:
Luca Greater is a raw food chef and consultant, living in Austin, Texas

Day 2 Riona’s day:
Riona Felicitas is a creative, lover of life painter, mother, gardener living raw for the
past 5 years From Melbourne, Australia

Here comes the tricky part:
*All recipes must be your own creations
*And the combination of all three should come to an approximate 2000-2500 calories
*must be easy to prepare... using at the most a food processor, or normal mixer (no champion
or dehydrator)

Thank you so much in advance!

I look forward to your response, and feel infinitely grateful to be able to be involved in this project with you.

Much love and peace
Christie

Ps.: an idea which also came to me in hindsight, if you have any testimonials, and before and after images of your own experience on raw foods.... that you don’t mind
sharing please send them too... I think there is no better motivation than
hearing of other people’s experiences!!

Pleas send to:chrebe@peacemail.com

Hi Christine,

I just wanted to leave you a note of encouragement, I live in Italy and the vegan and living foods situation is similar to Switzerland's I think if not more dramatic. They are very attached to their traditions here and its being on living foods is a lonely road here, for me.

I do not think I will be able to contribute any recipe to you right now as the caloric requirement 2500 to 2000 calories is very high, I don't think anything I eat is that high in calories, but best wishes anyway. Also quick question, I get most of my supplements super foods etc from the UK and with the pound exchange rate with the dollar its very high for me, do you know of any raw food suppliers in Switzerland, the shipping from Switzerland to Italy may be less to for me.
Thanks xo Dea

hi Dea!

thanks for your lovely words and encouragement :) at the moment it's better to order from the US than from the UK...
here are the swiss vendors I know:
http://www.keimling.ch/

and for fruit mainly:
http://www.tropenkost.de/
http://www.passion4fruit.com/
http://de.orkos.com/Default.aspx?tabid=53

but we're working on making some of the superfoods available in switzerland too... watch this space :)

ciao,
Christie

Hi Christie, thanks for writing back. When I order stuff from the US it gets blocked by customs in Italy who try to slap all kinds of fees and additional charges..so what I do is hunt and peck for stuff some in holland some in germany and now thanks to you Switzerland. So glad you are up and in business we need you!

love and veggies xo Dea

Ps The things I have the toughest time sourcing in Europe and can only find in the UK easily (expensive) are::

Goji Berries
Raw Coconut Butter
Lucuma
Maca
Durian
Chia seeds

See what you can do ok? Thanks! xo Dea

Hello Dea!

There is an online shop in Switzerland selling some of the superfoods you refer to and many more! All raw and organic (waiting certification). no durian and chia seeds though.

You can check it out at www.biosamara.ch.

Love, Ilanta (I'm your friend on Facebook!)

Hey! I think that's a great idea =) I'm living on the border to Switzerland (Austria) and I really hope that raw food will become more popular here soon!

Hey Miranda!

I live close to the border to Germany, close to Singen. Wherabouts are you?

We have been to fairs and festivals in Austria with our superfoods brand BioSamara and found that people are opening up to the idea of raw foods and superfoods, especially close to Vienna and Salzburg, of course.

Keep in touch!

Blessings, Ilanta

That was the diet I did last year when I was totally raw. I did lose weight but I also lost muscle, so I ended up kind of skinny/flabby. I do better on very low sugar/starch, higher fat and moderate protein (with lots of greens). I do eat animal p...
