Give it to me Raw

Hi there, not so much a recipe but a basic process that works well.

1 cup sunflower seeds, ground
1 tomato
1 carrot
2 zucchini
4 broccoli or cauliflower florets
1/4 onion
2-4 tsp of favourite herbs and spices (cumin, coriander, ginger, turmeric, paprika etc)
1/2 tsp sea salt

Process everything in the food processor. Use an ice-cream scoop to take scoopfuls out and flatten with a fork. Dehydrate until slightly dry but moist. Serve with favourite nut cream and salad.

This sounds great! So many burger recipes are loaded with nuts. I am really looking forward to trying the zucchini.

This is from the menu of Raw Soul, a raw restaurant in NYC. I don't know what the proportions are, but it's by far the best raw burger I've ever had (and trust me that I've had quite a few raw burgers from a variety of places -- the advantages of living in the NY area). It has a texture and consistency like a real burger and it tastes good too. I always get it with the napa cabbage leaf. Matt Mueller tried it a couple of weeks ago and he agreed with me. Here it is:

Barbecue Burger made with walnuts, carrots, sun-dried tomatoes, red onion, fresh cilantro, red bell pepper, topped with our home-made barbecue sauce, and sprouts, served on napa cabbage or flax bread

things that have actually worked for me: Valerian root for tea - very calming... Lemon juice, sliced lemon peel, lemon grass or lemon verbina, raw honey, star anise (optional), maybe some ginger, hot water (let it all infuse together for a while) ...
