Give it to me Raw

Well, I am hoping that someone can share a positive experience about eating live foods and healing rosacea. I have been a vegetarian for many many years. Have eaten a whole food diet and gained an interest in raw foods several years ago. After incorporating more raw over the years and having a desire to go total raw, just not doing it...perhaps now it is necessary to heal something that is going on with the body.

I have had a red mask for the past few years on my face after having perfect skin all my life. Finally, last week I went to a dermatologist and paid him 125 bucks to spend two min telling me I had rosacea and offering me a cream. The problem is, I will not use unatural products on my skin and have not for many years.

Problem 2: The rosacea seems to have entered the eyes..this happened last week and within a period of a day my eyesight was impaired. I had a lump on the eyelid this past winter, now it is back and my eyes are red and swollen....vision is impaired and ...had a panic the other day of could this lead to blindness?? Well, I have been using colloidal silver the past couple days..is maybe making a little difference in the eyes..but I must do something for my well being right now.

I am a breastfeeding mama and can not tolerate fats, need to heal this rosacea especially in the eyes...My eyesight is IMPORTANT!

THe docs will prescribe antibiotics for the eyes etc. Can anyone tell me some positive news about healing rosacea with a total raw diet??

There have been some pretty major 'stressors' in my life which could play a big part as well...but any thing that can be done right now will do if it will change this...

It is very hard for me to stay online and read excessively but have been researching as much as possible....anyone???

Hey Lisa,

Ouch, that sounds uncomfortable. You say youre a veggie, but not all raw yet. Does that mean you consume dairy still? If so, get that out of the diet immediately, along with gluten and any refined sugars, including syrups. Avoid concentrate sugars like dried fruits. Try to get most of your carbohydrate calories from whole fruits. If you're going to eat cooked starch, have some steamed sweet potato. Avoid all forms of frying. If you cant tolerate fats very well, try using something like Hemp seeds, ground to a powder, and put it in a smoothie. Hemp is generally easier to handle than any other fats. Use upto 4 tbsp per day but no more.

Stress is a big factor as you have identified as well. Try using deep breathing techniques such as the 7/11 technique (see attachment) 7-11 breathing.docwhich stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, triggerring your bodys relaxation response. Try to find solutions to any stressors that are within your potential scope of control. Drink lots of water and get lots of sleep.

I had rosacea before I went raw 6 months ago. Before raw, I cut out dairy and gluten - especially dairy is an aggrevator for rosacea. There was some improvement, but it was still there. Going raw has taken me to almost pure skin on my cheeks now, where I had it. I am also a breastfeeding mother, so to slow detox, when I first went raw I did raw till dinner. But then I just really wanted more raw foods. So I was doing a couple of raw dinners a week, as well. And that progressed and now I am raw most of the time. I highly suggest just going for it and trying raw foods. Gradually at first, then all in. You WILL see an improvement in your skin.

Ahhh, your words are encouraging. It is the eyesight that has caused me more concern than anything. Yes, it is annoying to have a red face and to constantly have people ask how I got such a sunburn etc etc....Thank you for the encouragement.

Hi Rawzi..yes, the eyesight is a hard one. My eyesight has always been perfect and this is a sense I never realized how much I appreciated until this began recently. I am willing to do what is needed though to heal this issue at its roots. It is obviously something that goes much deeper and it is the root I choose to heal...certainly using the other things will help nurture me as well as you mention...I have actually used some chewed up plantain leaf as a poultice, but havent done cucs. WIll do that too! And the raw egg white I had not heard of...wonder what it is that helps in the egg white? Ahh wheatgrass yea:)

thanks for the breathing technique. Certainly is something to help is focusing on my breath. As for dairy, the only dairy I consume is homemade plain yogurt which is now becoming occasional because it isn't feeling well either. I was consuming organic raw butter but have given that up as well because the fat thing just is not feeling good. Flax and hemp are the two that are currently being used and some days flax doesn't resonate. Gave up pumpkin seeds too. Actually, I have been enjoying a bit of organic yam that is steamed and use an herbal sea salt on it which has been something to eat since it is getting colder in the autumn. Quinoa...that resonates with my body and just a plain veggie broth with veggies. The small amount of cooked food I do have is VERY limited....minimal. My body just says 'no.' Dried fruits do not attract me just fresh, juicy ones...and wild greens picked right from the wilderness! I do eat some oatmeal because it seems that having no grain/starch/fat..I get nauseated, dizzy and weird feeling....it is something hard to describe. Loooove water and drink only that and sleep...ahh I would love to get more of that if the kiddos would allow it;) THanks again..will breeeeathe:)

Hi RawZi...well, some days they are good then all of a sudden they flair up out of nowhere.. it is very strange. It seems that from my experience rosacea is a auto immune type of situation..everything is 'attacking' so good thing I am naturally natural:) Anything that upsets my inner balance or outer balance causes flair ups. I believe that it is finding inner and outer peace that will bring the healing that is needed. Also, loving myself more...removing stressful things helps. If I go to the city or have a 'heated' discussion with someone..the next day or even that day...big problems. Went for a boat ride on the ocean with the kids the other day to snorkel...could hardly see the end of the day..maybe the salt in the air, sun ??? After being on the computer too long that does it....whew, it is hard to figure out...the only word is BALANCE...no extremes with ANY thing it seems inside or out...
