I don't know about a daily facial cleanser, but a great mask you might want to try is really simple -- blend together some avocado, papaya, and mango (but most important are the avocado and papaya) and apply on your face. Feel free to lick. Wash off whenever (I'd probably keep it on for at least 30-45 minutes, though).

Hi Merci!

This is what I use ....

A mixture of Raw Organic Honey and Oats. I massage it on my face for a minute or so, leave it on for about 10 minutes then I wash it off. Your face will feel soft! Try it out and let me know how it goes!!

A good scrub you could try is mixing honey and brown sugar. Rub it on your face for about a minute and rinse. Then put the honey on your face by itself for about 30 minutes. Rinse, your skin will be really soft after that.

For a regular facial cleanse, I always use black soap or some other natural soap.

I realize this is an older post, but....

I use an avacado oil/olive oil mix. Just put it on my face & rub it all over real well, and wipe it off with a warm wash cloth.

I have started using raw coconut oil to remove my eye makeup. It works great, there is no sting and I just leave it on as my moisturizer. I am out of town at the moment and it looks like I will run out of my facial cleanser so I am going to use it as my regular cleanser and see how it goes. I had been using it all around my eyes morn and nite and my skin is incredibly soft. Sayonara expensive cleansers and moisturizers!

Hi Melanie,

By using raw coconut oil to remove your eye makeup....can you go into more detail please.......ie,do you leave it on, on the eye area for a while and then just wipe off with cotton wool pad or something...? Sorry, I am just curious to figure out how an oil can cleanse.....and this would be amazingly good to use for me as a cleanser too as I already adore using it as a body moisturiser....if it cleanses the face too....marvelous....as you say ''sayonara expensive cleansers and moisturiser!''

I also had good success with the Oil Cleansing Method. Don't use it any more since I don't have hot water in my bathroom, and you kind of need it.

I use coconut oil for moisturizer though.... love it!

Hi Loulou- sorry for the lag in getting back here!

I just put a dab of coconut butter on a wash cloth and swab my eyes and eyelashes with it like I would any other eye makeup remover. I wipe until all traces of the makeup have been picked up. Then I just pretty much leave it on as a moisturizer. I've been using it exclusively as my eye moisturizer and I see no reason to switch. It sinks right in after about a minute or so.

I have used it as a facial moisturizer and it works well too. I still have some of my Ole Henriksen products which I really like but the coconut butter is pretty all purpose.

Thanks so much for this melanie....I def want to try this, at the moment I have just been dabbing my mascara off with warm water between my fingers to remove any traces. I also now use 30% castor oil and 70% olive oil as a facial cleanser and the results have been superb.....I now understand what people mean when they say their skin glows!
Merci x

I granulated sea salt mixed with fresh Coconut oil or cream. Any kind of commercial processed oil can be substituted if fresh is not available, desired, or effort spent. The salt is the real cleaser so go light on the oils. Sea snad makes a good scrub too.
