When I get a message from someone on my private message area there is always an option to block messages from them.

not so on the comment area. Anyone who is spamming you there should be reported to Dhru.

in Groups it is possible to send blanket messages to the members of that group. every group has a creator and can also have an administrator, both with the power to ban abusive members from the group.

Try sending them a message and save a copy. If they do not comply to your request report them to Dhru. He can ban them or warn them and give them another chance to clean up their act.

If someone is bugging you and persists when you ask them to stop, you have the responsibility to report them, otherwise they get the unspoken message that it's okay to continue the behavior.

Amen Dhru,
You articulated my feelings about Bryan very succinctly. His marketing himself in every post I've ever seen makes me want to zero him out. That really sucks because I get it that he's passionate about Raw, works hard and wants to make a difference so people's lives are enhanced. It's as you say: he needs a new marketing approach that's more respectful of the intelligence and sensitivity of the raw community. Perhaps this is why he gets barbed and parodied, so often in the Raw Humour Group.

People are going to interpret other people how they choose, everyone has to be who they are and cannot please everyone all the time, I wish I could but it is not possible. But at least I do not write about other people in a negative tone, RAW Community used to be about LOVE and SUPPORT. People ask me for info and updates and I do try to give out info, but again people will see it in different light, some enjoy it, some do not. People who do not want my e-mails I found a way to delete them from my "friends" list. But a lot of people said my info is motivating or they are interested. Again and I put this in my e-mails, if you are not interested please just delete, or ignore or delete yourself from my "friends" list. My e-mails are for people who ARE interested thanks.

I've been online for nearly two decades. Proper netiquette is to never send out unwanted business emails, i.e, spamming nor unwanted promotions of one's business in unrelated group, forum or bulletin board discussions.

Links and urls are allowed so the reader can continue on another site. It's not fair to the rest of us to forbid including links and urls. Please don't limit our ability to network and to know one another because of one member.

For example, if the discussion of who is going to the Raw Spirit Fest, I should be able to write:

"I'm discussing/distributing the new Superfoods line, "Elements for Life." I'll be working in radio hostess Laura Fox's booth. For more info, check out noblelifeelements.com/jennylens.

Come by to meet another GI2MR member, exchange a hug and a smile, and go enjoy the fest. Write me what you liked most, because I'll miss so much outside the booth.

I'm also compiling a ride share list from/to LA, Thursday to Monday, and need a room for a pal and myself Sunday night. I posted more on the ride share discussion.

Please write me, esp about the ride share and room situation.Then share your memories, which help keep them alive!

Short, sweet, to the point. IF someone wants to meet up, find out more about the products or me, ride, whatever, they are free to discuss on MY sites or private emails/calls, where we can say anything we want. We won't annoy nor interrupt others by taking if off the online discussion/thread.

Bryan should write:
"I'll be speaking at such and such time, which stage. I'm looking for a ride, can share a hotel room, or meet up, so write me at bryan @ bryanau.com.

bryan
bryanau.com [or whatever info is correct]"

Although I briefly looked at the speaker lineup, I didn't know Bryan is scheduled to speak. It's fine for him to give us the time, which stage and a link with more info. IT IS NOT ALLOWED to detail all that in guise of a promo!

Give us a nibble and a link to pursue it IF we are interested.

Any other group, forum or bulletin board would have banished the poster long ago. I am dealing with his endless emails. I don't want to block all emails because I'm compiling a ride share to/from the Raw Spirit Fest. It's far more practical to disable his ability to spam us. He's been given a lot of warnings.

The worst part is not only his behavior, which makes it hard for so many of us. The worst part is he has something good to share, but some won't have anything to do with him or his business. He's spreading permanent bad karma and is ignoring pleas to clean up his act.

jenny, your shots rock, I was there in LA in the punk scene too as were my siblings, not in a band, seeing bands.. you got some amazing stuff there.

I do not know what stage or link they only told me Sunday 11am. I do e-mail my "friends" list and you were on it, people ask me to keep them updated and for info. You did e-mail me asking to not "spam" you, I e-mailed you stating I am not trying to "spam" you and in my message I state that people should ignore or please delete my messages as I have 800+ friends and do not know how to delete people on the list. Now I know how to. The thing is I did not ask to be judged or for advice on how to do marketing, etc. so I think this is inappropriate for you to write this about me. Endless e-mails? I wrote a few. Normally I would not respond but I think you are taking this really far for a few e-mails and I explained in them to please delete or ignore them, I do not write about you or how you do marketing, I don't appreciate you writing about me in this manner or judging me thanks. The RAW Community used to be about love and support...what happened???

Everyone I just have LOVE! I don't want any "problems" or "misunderstandings" that is not what I am about. Everyone is my friend and I love everyone. I did send some e-mails out recently but to my "friends" list! Out of 800 + people a few asked me not to spam them, like 2 people actually the rest thanked me and were encouraging and nice. To the 2 people I did remind them that in my e-mail I ask that you please delete or ignore my e-mails that I don't want any negativity and that is not the intention of my e-mails or any of my postings, my intention is to promote and update people who are interested in my info and many ask me to keep it up. I do understand not everyone wants my info, but now I know how to delete people from my "friends" list before I thought I had to search through all 800 + friends but there is a way on their actual page. Anyways I don't want any drama, problems or whatever! I am about FUN, LOVE, JOY and yes I have a sense of humor people can make fun of me all the want I think it is funny! Humor is a GOOD THING, being too serious about stuff is not. Anyways whatever JUST HAVE FUN AND BE NICE like Rodney King said "Can't we all just get along?"
