BRING: durian, greens if you like, compatible treats, and LOVE.
I have borrowed a mondo cooler that will hold 9 to 11 monthongs. I am willing to buy extras for peeps, keep them frozen on dry ice and bring them. You can reimburse me at the feastival.

To me this feastival is about getting as many durian lovers, old hands or newbies, together as possible to share the love. Come ready to celebrate our abundance and share your durian. If you can't get a durian and want to come, by all means do so and bring an offering to the feast. Nobody cares what that is; it's an energetic thing and could be as simple as helping cleanup and haul the durian husks to the trash. Your presence is a blessing!

I'm proposing to start at 5:30p on Friday. Please give me feedback on the time. As I look at the packed schedule it's impossible to do this and not miss something.

You got it coming! My yoga brother and long time raw pal has given me all the good shopping spots in the Bay Area with the largest selection. I've programmed them into Sululu, the Enterprise's GPS Cow for the trip down. It probably won't take much dry ice to keep that much mass frozen for a couple of days in my big cooler.

Simmer down Pink you're doing great. Is it hot down there? Was 104 F here today and isn't cooling down as usual this close to the ocean. Don't peek, I'm naked. Today I was so grateful that my client broke my cell phone around 1 pm and I got to stop doing carpentry outside and take a nice A/C'd drive to town to take care of it, stop off for a shower and run other errands
Keeping your durians frozen on your trip. Use dry ice (-109 degrees F) Don't touch with bare skin! Use gloves, towel or oven mitt. Call around to some grocery stores to see if they have dry ice. Call your local ice company. Even in my dinky town one of the stores has dry ice. I'm guessing a pound or two of dry ice EACH will keep your durians frozen for the trip. Put the dry ice on TOP of the durians in the cooler to keep them frozen.
They do not stink well frozen. Your car will probably be fine, but don't take my word for it. Stop off at your local industrial safety supply company and buy yourself a nifty Haz-Mat full coverage exposure suit and respirator with the filters for organic volatiles and pesticides. Be sure to get the nice heavy yellow rubber gloves so you can look stylish driving down the freeway.
Sorry! I forgot that this is not a Raw Humour Group discussion or my blog and probably not R rated. The heat has made me a little crazier.
First thing early Friday morning take them out to defrost during the day. Yes, you can bring them over to my room at the Rad if you want to. Do not put them in the sun, a shady room temperature spot is fine with plenty of air circulation around them. I'm assuming that it will be warm in Sedona and that the room A/C will not be set for Penguins.
While you're waiting like an impatient child for your journey to start be sure to look in on your durians often. Talk to them if you like, but don't let your husband catch you or he might have you locked up and we won't get to raise hell together in Sedona with Barefoot and Debbie. I'm assuming that your durians are wearing their fishnet carrying bags, leave those on.
Opening a durian is going to be a treat for you. It's almost a sexual experience or maybe a birthing scene from a sci-fi movie where little creamy yellow alien babies are being delivered . Definitely a hands on experience figuring out where the almost invisible seam is between the spikes on each lobe/chamber.
