Give it to me Raw

Tell me, does anyone out there think this might be useful? Am I nuts, or does this seem like a good idea?

I'd like to provide a free website for everyone out there to come and look for available jobs all over the world - just a simple, bulletin board, list thing. It seems that right now, if you are looking for raw-related employment, you have to know someone who knows someone, or just spend hours online looking for organizations who happen to be hiring in your desired geographical and professional areas.

I'm willing to do all the research and publish all the data, but I'd like to know if folks have an interest at all before I do it. :)

Interesting concept. Go for it, I say.

Thanks. It just seems like I've seen a few requests for available jobs out there for those who aren't "in the know" yet, and I think it would be cool if there was just one, well-organized place where one could look for the info. Plus, if one, say, wishes to relocate to a beautiful, tropical island and find work at a raw retreat (or some such organization), then the info would be most helpful! ;) Just trying to add my creative and useful piece to the raw pie!

yeah, i was thinking paid/volunteer, short- and long-term, part- and full-time - positions for food prep, speakers, musicians, gardners, admin., therapists, packing & shipping... you name it. If someone or some company out there needs help with products or events, I'd love to help make things connect.

Thanks Amy!

I do realize that this will be a tremendous amount of work - consistently updating a job list. But I've just got to do something productive with my energy while I'm hanging out with my daughters all day at home! I know, I know... I have it rough, right? hah.

If there is nothing like this yet Jeannie, I would say, "GO FOR IT!". I believe GITMR exists inside the NING http://www.ning.com/ network galaxy/universe. There was a great article in Fast Company http://www.fastcompany.com/magazine/125/virtuous-circles.html about NING that would be a great place to start looking at how to host with tools already built into the system for being paid.

I appreciate your desire to provide this service free, but lets face it, you have two children (and thank you for staying home and being a mom btw) and NING has set ups that can be not too icky capitalist like and you can derive an income from your intellect, hard work and love while staying home and being a great mentor to your children. After reading the whole thread on David Wolffe and potential plagerism, I don't think there is going to be anyone in this community that is going to say, "boy that Jeannie is such a capitalist pig for making 3 cents a click for information that should be out there for free man!"

At the very least, set it up as a voluntary "donation" or "Love offering" for services rendered when someone gets a job. I have paid headhunters one to two months salary of a new job to get "hooked up" If someone gets a job that pays ten bucks an hour in paradise or with a totally cool company, it says more about them if they don't feel grateful and pay pal you one to a hundred dollars. I base my efforts on a measley ten bucks an hour. If it takes me ten hours to find a job that I like then apply for and get it, it cost me a hundred bucks worth of my time and time away from my children is worth way more than ten bucks and hour. If someone goes to your site and finds a position in an hour and gets it, well cash flow is another indication of being abundant and putting it back out to the universe only increases the flow to the giver if given without conditions, just like Love or anything else.

Do you have any favorite causes that you would give money to if you had it, or more money to if you could? Send 10% or more to them if you don't need the money. It is more about flow and intention than the actual amount.

My wife will get her masters in education for developmentally challenged children and wants to teach abroad taking myself and our two children along with, and I keep thinking, "what will I do to earn income?" I would go straight to your site to find out what is out there start with!

I send love, light and many positive thoughts to you for this endeavor.

Thanks Desert Raw, for all your info and support on the subject! Honestly, my feelings are that 1) I wouldn't feel right charging or taking money for a simple html page with some job details (at least at first - the more I think about it, the more curious I am to witness how the thing is received and how it evolves, and then, perhaps, additional funding might seem more appropriate), and 2) I am lucky in that I don't need the money (my hubby, in his web brilliance, is willing to help me with my wee project), but again, later on down the line if the project were to evolve into some crazy job-making machine that takes over a large percentage of my daily life, and I do end up making money from it somehow, then I would certainly feel good about donating a good portion. Cheers!

Super! I would still at the very least give the opportunity for anyone who felt so benefited to have the opportunity to participate in the law of reciprocity and flow of abundance.

Cheers
