Give it to me Raw

Okay, so the big grocery store in town has mangos 6 for $5. I can't resist a deal that good on one of my favorite fruits. Trouble is they're all pretty ripe. So, now I have a fridge full of mangos that will probably go bad before the family can eat them all. I was thinking I would make some sorbet by pureeing and freezing (no dehydrator yet) but I'm not finding a recipe that I'm crazy about in any of my books.

Here's what I'm thinking. I'll do 2 batches.

Batch 1: Mango, coconut, ginger and cardamom

Batch 2: Mango, lime, chile

What do you think? Any recommendations or other recipes to share?

I made mango sorbet by blending mangoes with alittle bit of water and agave and then put it in my ice cream maker

I don't have an ice cream maker, but I read a low tech way of doing it by putting the puree in a freezer bag and sqeezing the bag every 15 minutes or so until it's frozen.

Hi Meredith!

I've been loving mango sorbet - don't have a ice cream maker either and find I don't really need one for this. I just puree in the FP with some agave and coconut flakes and pour into either a pyrex or tupperware and pop into the freezer. its ready in about 3 hours and it doesn't get "icy" but stays pretty creamy!!! Its seriously my new summer addiction...and soo easy to make

I thought I was the only one.... Happens to me every once in a while, especially when I eat acidic food. Yesterday I ate 1.5 pineapples and my tongue started bleeding and chaeffing. Yuck.
