I was wondering what people's favourite raw books were. Any "bible of Raw" out there?
Currently I am reading "The China Study", then I have "The Sunfood Diet Success" System waiting to be read, and I've also heard a lot of good things about the 811 diet.
A recent one I really liked was Quantum Eating by Tonya Zavasta, I found it surprisingly to some of the others.
what is so good about the 811, I've heard so much bad stuff about it, like people getting sodium deficient and too much sugar etc it has put me off, and that you will get so deficient long term etc.so I'm curious about others experiences .
Well I'm just going on what david wolfe said a year or so ago that he had seen people become seriously sodium deficient, and as my hair mineral test 5 years ago after many years on raw vegan showed I was already almost non existent in sodium, but I felt fine.
I started adding superfoods and salt and became ill so I'm one of those that gets muddled up between results of tests and how I feel, when I felt fine my tests came back abnormal so I put it all right with supplements and my tests came back normal but then felt ill. so now I don't really believe in the results of tests, and what exactly they are measuring

I have just become interested in reading 'Quantum eating'. What she says about not eating late in the day really resonates with me.
Di you try her approach, How did you find it? notice many differences? my fear would be missing out on rare occasions to eat with other raw people in the evenings!
she recommends not eating or drinking after 2 pm,not drinking being important as she reccommends dry fasting during this period. I haven't done it properly yet, it is quite challenging to not eat or drink after 2 pm. What I did like about the book is that it did get me eating more fruit and lower fat and aware of the fatigue issue some people have with that and moved away from superfoods and supplements. There is lots of other interesting info in the book on circadium rhythms etc.
Brilliant, Yes it seems it really contains some of the next steps for me. I too find not eating after 2 incredibly challenging! Tried it yesterday, didnt get very far! I am sure its a process though, and I would love to get closer to only eating for need, not for lonliness/ boredom/ comfort etc.
I am already low-fat high fruit, I am glad to hear she's on that path, I found it alleviates fatigue too. Combined with dryfasting from 2pm that should really help release fatigue symptoms. whenever I eat late, I wake up groggy... takes ages to start looking/ feeling refreshed too!
I heard Tonya Z speak in Seattle and just read her book Quantum Eating and have followed her recommendations (I am only on day 3) but I have already noticed incredible energy (and change in BM as she mentioned). I also love 80/10/10. I can relate to using food to numb boredom, lonliness, stress, etc. I have always been a bit meek, shy, quiet, but now this new way of eating makes me really speak my mind -- I notice this is a HUGE change that I like, but others might not! who cares! :) It feels so liberating! So I would rec Quantum Eating, 80/10/10.
I have only done this for 2.5 days, but last night went to bed at 2am, had to wake at 5:30am for a 12 hour shift at work and I feel great....
