What is everyone's position on drinking booze? What kind? how often? I'm curious. I drink occasionally. I used to binge drink 2to3 times a week up until last month.
I have the occasional glass of red wine. Maybe 1 glass once every week or two so not very often, but I like to feel like I have an option to do so when going out with friends or a nice romantic dinner, etc.
I have changed my lifestyle so much that it seems it is so hard to eat out and socialize with people without a hassle and sometimes it is just nice to at least be able to enjoy an occasional drink with friends. I try to buy organic red wine without sulfites for at home.
i say don't do it if you're looking to getting trashed instead of just a buzz. if you're gnna get fucked up, do it right. try some harder stuff like prescription pills, make sure street stuff is "safe," don't overdo it, and drink smoothies all of the next day :) . it's great, though you're not gnna feel 100% duh...
this has been working for me for a while. you can have fun/feel crazy amazing things on drugs and then resume to feeling great in real life :p- the best of both worlds!!!
with alc it's just feeling GROSS the next day...
Starting to agree with you. At least it's calorie/sugar-free. I used to drink straight vodka 2x/week, like 2 or 3 glasses just to socialize. Now that I'm even more raw than before, I don't yearn for it. Also, I worry so much about gaining weight.
ps- ah i hope this doesn't sound corrupting/like bad advice on a healthy website, i'm just being honest! can't be uber-healthy all the time, there are other experiences our minds deserve a chance at while on earth. experience everything!! healthiness, sadness, lust, opiates, good and bad :)
I drink occasionally but I am aware of the toxins, pesticides in booze. I only drink white wine. Red gives me migraines. Sometimes it is nice to change one's cosciousness a little. But equally I think booze is probably the most toxic drug on earth, so I am aware of the paradox. But I don't want to be a purist, well not yet at least!
Yup, I have to agree with DurianRider! I get my high's from living in the moment now. Booze - it's a mug's game, innit? Done the drink, done the drugs, never been so far away from what makes me truely happy. Now I enjoy conversations with sober people, and revel in feeling the clarity of the present - whatever that may be for the day. So, Tee total and drug free for 6 years. Clarity is too precious to loose.
I used to drink a lot more when I was young (as did so many people). I'd be out at the pub 3 or 4 nights a week when I was 18, and I'd probably have 4 or 5 pints of beer each of those nights. As I got older I started to go out less often but drink more at home; 2 or 3 large cans of beer (about 2.5 pints) a night, most nights. This was still the case up to about 10 years ago when I first switched from cans to bottles (all that aluminium in the cans leeching into your beer - yuk!) and gradually reduced my alcohol intake. I don't drink much at all now, but that's just because I don't seem to fancy alcohol like I used to. The odd glass of wine is nice.
I am going to a sort of reunion thing in a few weeks time and I will have a few beers there, but I'll be drinking water before I go and will alternate between beer and water whilst I'm there, not forgetting a little more water before bedtime to combat dehydration and avoid any ill effects. The pub sells organic cider and beer anyway, so that's a positive.
I think I've just learned to have as good a time without booze. I certainly don't miss it. Mind you, there's a cold organic cider in the fridge at home and it's a lovely warm day.... ;o)
coming from an italian family...they drank enough for me and future generations...not in a bad way but wine at dinner...liquor after dinner drinks...cocktail before...so...never got into drinking..i was always a diet pepsie gal...now since raw its smoothies, juices, kombucha and water..yes..im boring...haha..so not!!..raw hugs..oh and my gpa always had a shot of scotch..."to keep my bones moving, grandpa"...as he would say...he died at 96 yrs young with not a prob...he was on no meds and his blood work was amazing...no chol..no nothing...he was disease free...i miss being called gpa..haha..
The last time i drank red wine, I had 3 glasses and the next morning i had a horrible migraine headache. I used to get them once every other month from the age of 10-17. In my 20's Ive only gotten one every couple of years. I don't know the cause, but i'm turned off to red wine for the time being. I drink on the occasion. a couple times a year. Less is best for me though...

Let me guess it was probably non organic wine?
The alcohol is bad enough in itself but the problem with wine is that if it is not organic it's absolutely loaded with all sorts of nasty chemicals....(do some research into it)
I don't touch that stuff anymore for that reason, it used to give me headaches too and make me feel REALLY toxic the next day.
I only do high quality organic if and it's a completely different experience
Red wine doesn't taste as good to me anymore, but I still love reisling and gewurztrminer. I rarely drink, though, and when I do, it's one glass. Otherwise, I get indigestion and achy legs the next day.
Hi,
Sorry to disappoint u, but you should never eat raw chestnuts. They're poisonous! They contain tannin a toxic substance. I used to let my dog play around with them until I learned about the tannin. It's highly toxic for animals (they can die f...

lol yes in many cases.
Eating raw fruits and vegetables doesn't make someone more spiritual. If that were case, we could just eat our way to enlightenment. Many animals eat raw fruits and vegetables and still live at a gross level of ignorance an...
