Can I just say, if you haven't read this book, go buy it NOW! It is simply wonderful. I consider myself fairly knowledgeable on nutrition, but man, this study just blew that theory out of the water....I am only up to the part about protein consumption and cancer, but man--I had my husband read it and he's "scared straight"!!!! No more meat for him!!! (not that he had it that often anyways...)
Just a warning....The China Study reads like a dry college text book to me. That being said it was the final piece of the puzzle that convinced me to go vegan and I totally recommend it. It's a must.
Don't they do Interlibrary loan? I've gotten a lot of books that way. Your library gets it from another library, could be across the country. Once I got one from San Diego! (I'm in Indiana) Try it, its cheaper than buying, unless you decide its a book you want to have for all time.
You may be able to submit a request for them to get a copy of this book. I had to do just that in order to get Alissa Cohens' 'Living on Live Food', which is a Huge book. They called me in like 2 or 3 weeks and said it was in. No guarantees but it is worth a try.
So true.
I was the athlete lifter guy when I was younger and was told to eat 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight per day. So naturally I ate 1.5 grams per pound. Its a wonder I'm alive. This is the information given to kids today looking to bulk up. Its weird.
Anyway, I tell meat eater lifter guys all the time to read this book. I have a friend with my book now that is the lifter guy who insists he must eat his "pure whey protein" everyday or he'll shrivel and die. I asked him what happens when he doesn't eat it and he didn't know. He read he needed it on the label and how great it was and has eaten it ever since... so who knows what he'll do.
Its all one big crazy advertisement - everything we have been taught. Realizing this is a beautiful enlightenment. Books like the China Study definately give this awakening a swift push.
I'm happy you saved your husband and all those beautiful little animals.
not me neither, for one no tv here, two I remember the last time that dull show was on and boring as hell( and I heard it is just as bad as last one ). Plus I am with Barron, I watched enough of shapeshifting Bushes, Clintons, Gores, Gulianies, to...
I need a mango now more than ever.
This year has been the worst mango season I've ever seen :( Honey mangos were sad with light colored flesh that held little flavor...Kent mangos...don't even make me go there.
Last year was an AMAZING mango yea...
This was the one in the Santa Ynez Valley, which is near Santa Barbara. I did have a wonderful time! Met so many amazing people! I didn't volunteer though. I actually took a plane from Toronto by myself, but synchronistically met a lot of amazing ...

LOL- yes, I meant blood vessels. I must've been typing in a hurry;) The spleen (in Chinese medicine) holds things in their place, like blood in the vessels, and organs (keeps them from prolapsing). I wonder if you had a spleen issue back when the ...
