People getting sick on raw food? -Link-, we should write in to the paper ;);)...

So my parents made me read this article in a news paper. It was about a family on a raw vegan diet, and the chicks kids had gotten holes in their teeth and were stick thin...and they all craved dairy.

So it looks like raw made them ill.

They ate loads of fruit, veg and seeds and took b12 and d supplements, yet they were sick....

I can't find an expination for my parents, I can't even find one to give to myself...

Can anyone brain storm on why they were so sick?

Wow, I'm so mad about this, great idea about writing in Chris, I am off to do that. Please join me! I really think people need to know about how amazing raw food is, we should be getting this out to as many people as possible.

I understand what you are saying and I agree many people think that there is only one way to eat and that it should work for everyone, but that is not always the case. I have to disagree with you though and say that most of the people I have encountered that are vegetarian, vegan and now raw foodists are the most open minded people I know. I think there are some that are unable to accept the food others eat, but that can be said for meat eaters, SAD eaters, whatever eaters! I guess we have just met very different ends of the spectrum when it comes to vegans. To each their own! :)

People don't realize that all they have to do is get off their lazy asses haha.
My boyfriend says he wants to go a portion raw and lose some chub. He refuses to stop being lazy, though. Drives around instead of taking a short walk, does the least amount of work possible, etc. It really isn't that hard to be more active once you get used to it.
I agree. It is hard to get motivated to start it as a habit, but once you do, it feels great and then it feels awful when you miss a day of being active!

I can provide you with contact details of hundred of people with these type stories. Many of them include complete reversals of Cancer, Autism, AIDS, an much more.

You don't have to endorse these claims, but one good story deserves another. From what I have found the article you published is not the common experience of those following these types of diets. I would love to give people who are suffering with these illnesses some hope and also a new avenue to try if they want to heal themselves.

i was vitamin d deficient - clear as day....

Exactly!! The purest and easiest way to get vitamin d! just be wary of the time you are out there, your body only needs a little while out in the sun to get enough vit d! :)
Between the hours of 10 AM to 2 PM.
Dried fruit is known to cause damage to teeth, absolutely no mystery there.

There are plenty of US raw vegans with excellent vitamin D levels, it reflects sunshine exposure. In the UK it is not always so easy to get enough, but it is a hormone not a vitamin anayway.

Only oily fish provide a decent dose of vitamin D, so most "omnivores" get around 90% of their vitamin D from sunshine anyway, but animal products do offer a bit of a safety net, as do supplements.

In the interest of balanced reporting perhaps you would like to consider the following.
I am 45 years of age and for 44 of those years I consumed what I thought was a relatively healthy diet by UK standards. I didn’t eat junk food. I ate cooked meat, steak, chicken etc, cooked and raw vegetables and fish at least twice a week.
I gradually felt my health declining over the last 10-15 years and had a number of minor ailments which no health professional could help me with. I was overweight, my eyesight was deteriorating, I had chronic lower back pain, chronic fatigue, high cholesterol to name but a few.
I have never met anyone in my life with a more positive outlook in life than me and yet I thought because health professionals could not help me I put it down to my age and I had kind of resigned myself to a life of relative misery as my health spiralled downwards because Doctors know best, don’t they?

In the last year I have transformed my life and my health without the help of any medical professional by sticking to a raw vegan lifestyle.
I have cured and I stress cured, not just masked the symptoms of every single problem I had. I feel fit and healthy and on top of the world every minute of every day. I have thrown away my glasses as my eyesight is now almost perfect, my back pain disappeared overnight and I haven’t had a single ache or pain for nearly a year now. Everyone remarks how healthy I look and that I look 10 years younger and I need 3 hours less sleep every day. I am very, very, angry that I have been lied to and misled all of my life. The problem is I don’t know who to be angry with because the whole western world establishment seems to be brainwashed. Even now I find it hard to believe the mis-information that is allowed to be put into the public domain can be some sort of conspiracy but what other conclusion can be drawn from the lies we are told. The first lie I discovered was about milk. We are brainwashed from birth that pasteurised cow’s milk is good for us. This is clearly not true. Once you discover one lie you start to question everything else. Like, we need to eat meat to get protein. Nonsense! Two years ago my doctor told me my cholesterol level was dangerously high and I would have to take medication for the rest of my life, there was no alternative. I believed him and dutifully took my tablet every day. After 1 year I stopped taking the tablets and embarked on my raw vegan lifestyle. I had my cholesterol checked recently and the level has dropped considerably. You would think the doctor would be desperate to know how I did it to pass this information on to others. The truth is no-one in the surgery even asked. They are just not interested in curing people as it would put them out of a job.
Now either one of the following is true
1. My Doctor is lying to me and is only interested in pushing drugs for profit.
2. He genuinely doesn’t know any better and has himself been brainwashed by the highly profitable drugs industry
3. I am a freak of nature.
I know 3 is not true because I have met and spoken to many other people with similar stories.
So it is either 1 or 2. I can’t think of any other explanation. Either way it is an utter disgrace that this is allowed to happen.
People are dying every second of every minute of every day of supposedly incurable diseases yet it has been proven time and time again that people have been cured of cancer, diabetes and heart disease by changing their dietary habits.
The American government has spent 75 billion dollars on cancer research and even this is dwarfed by the money spent by drugs companies, cancer charities and other governments and yet more people die of cancer now than ever before. It looks to me that they don’t want to find cure but to make money from other people’s misery.
Finally, if none of this convinces you then consider this. I found an article in the British Medical Journal http://bmj.bmjjournals.com/cgi/content/full/320/7249/1561
In it you will see that when Doctor’s went on strike in Israel the death rate dropped considerably. Coincidence? It would appear not. Do a search in google for ‘doctor’s go on strike’ and you will find that every time Doctors have gone on strike for any significant length of time the death rate has dropped by between 18% and 50%.
I don’t expect you will be allowed to print any of this information because I believe your income from advertising by the drugs and food industry wouldn’t allow it. But maybe it will make you think about your own health and at least when the truth is finally exposed it will be on record that I told you so. I will continue to spread this message to as many people as possible in the hope that others can enjoy the benefits I and many others now have.
