So my parents made me read this article in a news paper. It was about a family on a raw vegan diet, and the chicks kids had gotten holes in their teeth and were stick thin...and they all craved dairy.
So it looks like raw made them ill.
They ate loads of fruit, veg and seeds and took b12 and d supplements, yet they were sick....
I can't find an expination for my parents, I can't even find one to give to myself...
Wow, I'm so mad about this, great idea about writing in Chris, I am off to do that. Please join me! I really think people need to know about how amazing raw food is, we should be getting this out to as many people as possible.
Let's forgive the illusions we have about 'each other'- since that is all they are. People go about things in different ways. Our homework is to attend to what we are doing, being true to what feels true for us- while others do for themselves what feels immediate and true for them. When what someone else appears to believe or do does not fit into our personal picture of perfection, this does not make them wrong- simply different. This is a forum- where insights and perspectives are offered- at least I hope that this is more its energy- rather than a field for defense and attack.
The reason she wrote the article was to stop the poison that is being expressed here.To get some clarity from the gobblygook expressed by some of the more venomous contributors to this forum. there are a lot of fearful people here.
that makes no sense karl...there was no 'poison' being expressed here before she wrote the article. Actually, I don't think there's been any since-just frustration as looking back through the thread it seems that the venom has come from Holly Paige- ie vegans are brainwashed and raw fooders are part of a cult.
That's not clarity Karl.
Jane is very upset with me because i have suggested that people are being scared off animal products which i think they are. She has a very deep connection with animals and hates to see them suffer in any way. Which is beautiful imo. On the other hand i have seen children being malnourished and this deeply pains me. I believe, maybe wrongly that many children actually need animal products and my aim is to find a way of getting them in a kinder way. Of course Jane loves children too and i love animals but i think there is simply a difference in priorities and the whole issue has triggered Jane emotionally. I feel she misunderstands what i am getting at but i just have to let it go i think.
i make it worse the more i say.
anyway Jane has told me that she is no longer my friend which of course whe has every right to do!
you are getting rather boring now. I COULD BE HERE FOREVER WASTING MY TIME. Holly is getting on with new things you can fester in your conceived ideas what she is about is real not some mental idea Holly is healthy. Jane Slater is ill I would rather take my info from people that are healthy I AM OFF TO DO SOMETHING PRODUCTIVE NOT WASTE MY time talking around in circles. .
Anyone can choose, as they wish, to look for darkness or egotistic agenda in anyone's actions- and who knows, it might even be their own jolly old devious ego doing the choosing, clever chap/chapess that it is ( or isn't actually- as none of this pantomime of illusion even exists :) ....but while we are dancing in the paradigm that it does......Holly, guess what....erm....spoke to the press to express what she felt was the truth of her own experience. She saw what she did as potentially helpful. Hopefully- any Vegan mother will be at least as attached to the idea of her children being radiantly healthy as she will be to adhering to a particular way of eating.
My mother worked as a children's nurse just after the war in Britain. All my childhood I heard endless stories about the state of children who came into her care. She told me especially about the number of children with chronic rickets- their legs so bowed they could barely stand on them- and a very frequent sight - until, by law, all children were given a bottle of milk a day. The rickets disappeared. She said to me that, if I had actually witnessed the 'reality' of those children's lives I would have wept and clutched at any opportunity to get them milk. Frankly- if I could not contrive an alternative vegan solution, I would give them the milk, sooner than watch their well-being decay. So there's no complex toxic agenda in Holly's impulse- just the love of a mother. She did it with the best intent.
And since I'm Scottish- a saying from the Scottish bard Robbie Burns comes to mind:
'The best plans of mice and men, gae aft a glay'......yup.....
oh yes....and another one- I saw graffiti-ed on a wall
'Hell hath no fury like a vested interest'
Lets lighten up here a little- and be glad that this beautiful world is rampant with frailties, flaws and also beauty and solutions. oops- and by the way- I am probably 99.365 devoted raw vegan :). Well, today, anyway.
thank you

Thank you for your positive words everyone. I've been raw for 8 months and it was simply dissappointing to have gone through such a binge! Besides I felt physically awful!
Onward we march from here! lol

Renee Being happy is a moment-to-moment choice, not a destination :D
