Hi, I really cant eat banannas they are really gassy to me. I know it was the raw food, I have been juicing for months and have been fine. It was clearly Julianos. I think I should call them and tell them.
So hopefully you are over the nausea by now, but I was recently having a horrible nauseuous detoxing episode and the magical cure for me was chamomile and ginger tea. (Thanks Nellie) Worth a try.
Hi Deb, No actually I had no gas or pain just so sick to my stomach and throwing up. It actually went right through my system in less then 20 minutes. It was the next morning. I was deathly sick and spent the day with an IV drip in my arm. I am not just talking about a stomach explosion I could handle that it was the throwing up that just isnt right. Maybe for someone who eats out all of the time and no veggies. I talked to someone who eats a lot of processed fatty foods and said just by eating a kale chip they started to feel sick to their stomach. I drink green juices all day and have dinner. 70/30 I guess. I cant prove it but I know it was from there. I still called them and let them know what happened just in case someone was tired and a little lazy and thought that they might not clean as good as they should. WE all know the dangers of this with raw food. I am going to stick to eating at home!!!
Right on Debbie. What you are talking about here are the principles of food combining. They are very important. Far too many raw people seem to be completely unaware of food combining! One cannot just eat anything in any order just because it's raw. However I've heard that after being raw for a while whilst combining food properly, one's digestion become so strong that it eventually is capable of dealing with miscombined meals a lot easier.
Here's one simple rule: always eat fruit first and always wait at least 15 minutes before eating anything else.
Matt Monarch has a theory about this, see his website for more info or his book Raw Success.. basically the more clean you are the less able you are to tolerate cooked foods, meat, dairy and processed starches etc. Has to do with blood gas.. Matt are you out there??
Deb
Okay. Come one now. It seems that a good majority of raw foodists came to the diet because they were fed up with the single-mindedness of the standard diet community--meaning, pretty much everyone else in the damn world. But what the hell's the point in opening up to a new diet if you're going to adopt the same level of tunnel vision that you had before? Evie, if you had to go the hospital, my bet is something was wrong.
I'm about 95 percent raw and have been for about four months. I am, right now, at this very goddamn minute, suffering from an awful stomach bug that has left me incapable of keeping anything in my system. This has been going on for a week and I held off on asking fellow raw foodies about it because I knew that this, like every other illness would just be chalked up to 'detoxing.' That is just plain silly.
"Did you hear about Moonbeam?"
"No, what happened?"
"A piano dropped on her head."
"Shit. Detoxing is a bitch."
If this diet is going to progress at all, or be adopted by more people, it really needs to be picked up by some advocates who have a little more common sense.
I don't doubt that detoxing exists. But sometimes getting sick, is just getting sick, and has nothing to do with your goddamn carrots.
Now I have to hand it to you that is one of the best reads I have had from online !!! I love it. I just got sick the weekend before and had a nasty little cold. Then the following weekend I got sick AGAIN!!! So I agree, it has nothing to do with the gaddamn carrots but it def came from a nasty little germ that got me good.....I just think that if you are not ingesting a certain amount of protein in your body you're ammune system gets super low....I am not giving it up just want to be under someone who has had experience in this kind of eating. I do not have a gallbladder........so I have to be extra careful..my stomach is super sensitive ..and my boyfriend is fed up LOLOL...no seriously.....you are right though it sounds like you have the flu.........I think........
Actually it stopped working. I did not eat "rich" foods at all. My grandfather had his out but I had a tummy ache for over 4 months. They did every test in the book and could not find anything. I researched it and asked to be tested and so I was and it measured emptying about only 7%. It only healed part of the problem. I still felt horrible for at least another 4 months. I had tummy attacks that happened in my early 20's but they only lasted a few days. When I got into my 30's well it never healed. I started Prilosec afterwards and all it did was make me feel worse so I stopped taking it and started juicing since my body has always been acidic due to a high protein diet.
Yes taking the gallbladder out helped. l I think if I had someone who taught me about green juices and tried to heal me for the 4 months I was suffering I might have saved my little gallbladder. But now she is gone and nothing I can do to bring her back (sigh). The patholigist said that I had gallbladder disease but I read that everyone has a little bit. I was very sick and ate squash, crackers no meat, no salad nothing. I was miserable. I was on so many different kinds of drugs which none of them worked only made me worse. My body did not heal itself on its own. I did not know that cooked meat would make you sick. I was eating like this for years. I never ate fruit in the longest time. I was programmed this way. I went back to my evil ways, drinking starbucks and eating chicken breast. Protein bars for breakfast, lunch and small salads in between. Then my body freaked out again of course nothing like the first time but I knew I had to do something else. So at one point a few years back my boyfriend introduced me to juicing. I did not know anything about green juices. I just did it a few times and that was it. I read somewhere that cabbage, beets and carrots clean your tummy out so we made a juice and that was the last day i ever took a prilosec again. I would have liked to have gone away to a cleansing retreat for 30 days but it so expensive. I went to a 5 day and that was 2000. I have no will power to be in my home starving to death. So I juice for the day and eat apples and then at night have dinner, soy chicken, dehydrated fruits, veggies whatever.
What do you mean by the tissue left from around the gallbladder? I am curious to know your thoughts....I totally agree with being at home....its non-stop and I would not be able to focus on myself plus I did not want to be at home. There is a reason why people went out to the desert and did a fast. It is been happening for centurys. Still, people still do not get it and I am glad in my 30's I was blessed with this insight. Soy does not make me sick at all. I need to start learning how to prepare low-calorie raw protein dishes. This is what I need. I cant eat ground up nuts in all my meals this is what gets me sooooo sick. I do not drink juice with food. I drink juice and then have an apple an hour or so later then some more juice.
Perhaps take things a little slower. If you go from sad to everything raw, your body will wonder what is going on! Gradually introduce more raw into your diet until you get sick on the cooked stuff.
I would not know what to say when it's my 10 minutes. I like the idea of without interruption though...then I can listen without feeling a need to respond to not make it seem like im not interested when I am
Nice picture and changes! I plan to go on a similar diet at some point, whenever I move out of Vermont and somewhere warmer. Lovin' the posts on your site, keep it up :P.
