Does anyone else get a fuzzy head, sleepy sort of "pre-drunk" feeling from drinking kombucha? I'm just beginning my raw journey and had the same reaction to it before going raw--I'm wondering if I'm having a "bad" reaction or am just sensitive--though if I drink liquor or wine I do not have this type of reaction so I don't thing the small alcohol content in the kombucha is the issue.
Anyway, anyone have any insight?
I have an odd reaction to Kombucha - specifically GT's - its not a bad reaction or a drunk feeling but I kind feel like a tightening sensation in parts of my body sometimes. Actually its hard to explain, but for instance if my shoulders are really tight and I drink Kombucha I might feel a tight sensation there. I've also felt that in my leg and in my stomach - its the same sensation each time but a different area of the body! I just assumed it was working its magic! And its only happened with GT's, no other ones that I've tried.
wow, I've been drinking kombucha a lot lately- about 8oz a day, with no reaction. always the GT'S brand. It sounds like people are actually feeling the tiny percentage of alcohol that they say might be in the drink due to fermentation?
by they way, does anyone know if the b12 in kombucha from GTs is naturally occurring, or supplemented?
I get a little relaxed but not drunk for sure. i only drink about 1/3 at a time and water it down. i also only have the ginger or lemon kind, no other flavors.
I had my first sip of kombucha at school..the taste definitely was unexpected, but I ended up drinking half of the bottle. Boy, did I turn RED! it was so embarrassing! by the way, I can't tolerate alcohol as well..a sip of wine cooler makes my face RED.
Hmm, interesting input, thanks everyone. I guess what I'm actually wondering if this reaction is good or bad? I mean could it be like an allergic tyype/negative reaction that means I shouldn't drink it anymore?
Well, well that's the thing everyone here is looking for, but did you know that if it's not raw how can it help? Or am I the only one who truly believes in the power of raw. Tea? Don't you have to boil water? Is it still raw then? I don't know, maybe I just see differently on the subject. Alcohol on the other hand is what the good book is trying to get us to see is what is perilous journey. Or that the tree of life is not the apple tree in fact it's a kingdom. The Fungi Kingdom. The deal is we should be using this fungi kingdom to heal us from doing without eating or drinking these things that have a self evident use in making compostable materials at break neck speed, passing down the food chain of life, getting us back to the garden of contentedness. Everything is in moderation if moderation is self evident from " ...and The Republic for which it stands..."
Haha! Probably Charles! I actually bought this dress at the spirit fest because it was on sale and made from 100% organic hemp. The rest of the clothes I brought were pretty grubby. :)

You can always ask a produce dept. employee at Whole Foods to cut one open so you can try it before you waste your money. It's store policy to let people sample things:)
