In February of 2007 I had a full hysterectomy because that seemed to be my only alternative. (Duh, I can't help but wonder about how raw foods would have affected my choices) From that moment until now, I've been taking HRT (Premarin). This doesn't really fit in with my new raw lifestyle or my ethical beliefs.
I'm prepared to make a change, I fully expect to have some side effects (like instant menopause) or withdrawal symptoms. But, I was wondering if there was anyone out there who may have taken this same path as I'm about to take? Is there someone who could tell me what they've already discovered? What not to do? Are there any RAW women out there without ovaries who can give me some advice? Can any of you give me input on what you do or don't take? Side effects? Libido? Advantages? On a fully raw diet, perhaps I can avoid taking anything? What, in a raw lifestyle, can I do to remain healthy, but also be comfortable? Are there any natural alternatives?
The difference between Bioidentical and Synthetic?
"Bioidentical hormones are manufactured in the lab to have the same molecular structure as the hormones made by your own body.
By contrast, synthetic hormones are intentionally different.
Drug companies can’t patent a bioidentical structure, so they invent synthetic hormones that are patentable (Premarin, Prempro and Provera being the most widely used examples)."
