Give it to me Raw

Hi there :-)

A few days ago I watched the "The Secret Life of Plants", a movie made in the late 70's that puts forward the thesis that plants have could actually be sentinent beings. It is an amazing film.

"The Secret Life of Plants includes remarkable information about plants as lie detectors and plants as ecological sentinels; it describes their ability to adapt to human wishes, their response to music, their curative powers, and their ability to communicate with man. "

You can watch the movie here. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4753736638977368381

You can read some parts of the book that the movie was based on here.

Open Question: What implication does this have for us raw foodies?

My own thoughts are that I need to be incredibly grateful towards any plant/ living food that I consume, really. Approaching mealtime with the correct mental/spiritual preperation seems to be a must now, because if what I am reading here is true - there is direct physical evidence that a person's state can affect the plants that they are in contact with. I am also coming across some further evidence on the "law of intention" while reading in the links above.

Please let me say thank you for taking the time to read this. I love you all.

there are many stages of enlightenment...waking/sleeping/dreaming consciousness, transcendental consciousness, cosmic consciousness, unity consciousness, god consciousness, brahman consciousness etc.

there is a distinct difference in that the great ENLIGHTENED masters taught the world about a soul's evolution. animals are here on a parallel journey to evolve and when we kill/consume them, we are ceasing this process and therefore taking on their karma (not to mention the fear (unpleasant emotions) when killing the animal).

plants are here and ARE conscious...just as all IS consciousness yet they have the distinct purpose (by their choice) of being consumed as nourishment WHEN gratefully thanked for this service to humanity. this is where prayer or offering comes into play (BEING thankful for their service in sacrificing themselves for the benefit of our human evolution).

now this is by no means a judgment from me onto anyone who chooses to eat animals...merely a slight but yet very real distinction between the two choices.

this is LOVELY to be CONSCIOUS of our BEINGNESS and ONENESS...you are most divine in this awareness.

silk is most excellent for the subtle body...i think the highest type of material used for conscious living > it protects the subtle body from outside influences yet lets it be expansive in its nature.

maharishi always wore silk :)

if not silk, then hemp is excellent and wool is also protective...

There's a group of Buddhist (the Jains) that will not kill plants.
If you've ever achieved a real connection with plants (a la Celestine Prophecy, though that's fiction), this doesn't seem so far-fetched.
From: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jains
...
Jainism's stance on nonviolence goes far beyond vegetarianism. Jains refuse food obtained with unnecessary cruelty. Many practice a lifestyle similar to Veganism due to the violence of modern dairy farms, and others exclude root vegetables from their diets to preserve the lives of these plants.
...
Thanks for the tip on the movie; I'll check it out.

The Jains go by a premise that plants are put here for us to admire but my ideal is that every seed has a promise and that when it spouts that is the essense of nature performing the task of supplying much needed sun energy for us animals. When a we find the commensualism of plants, animals, and fungi then the seed has the primary role for us as a simple kind of man and when we choose to eat we are only going for what has this premise. I can't believe I hurt plants when I decide to eat a carrot or a celery sick or a leaf of chard. However, I eat mostly fruit, but there are a few vegetables I enjoy to implement in my frugivorous habit to keep the bowel movement functioning properly and these mentioned above are my main three. Get a grip of the reality and start allowing for a freer nature to prevail.

what's cool is my friend was married to the co-author of that book. christopher bird has since dropped his body, hence the reason she has re-married.. alas.. plants are amazing.. and then again.. all life.. especailly our own is a feat of magnificence... to part the veil and peer into the magic which is whirling all around us is the key. its funny.. its like fish in the ocean.. it's all around them, but do they actually know what they're in? i guess my point is, all life is consciousness... how deep do we go? it is a amazing adventure.... blessings to all our discoveries! eating raw food is quite helpful at keeping the spectacular visonary sensitive.. eating live foods only amplifies life. what is the old saying... you are what you eat? how simple and true...

Luther Burbank repeatedly told his cacti that they were loved, and he would take care of them, and that they had no need for their spikes. Eventually, they grew without spikes.
The full story is in book "The Autobiography of a yogi" that is shown in the post above.

Try this Doreen. I found out about it when I worked at Jubbs longevity. There is absolutely no aftertaste and a bottle lasts forever. I've been using it for years. Lucky Vitamin has amazing prices on many things too. http://www.luckyvitamin.com/i...
