I wonder what she's gonna do at the end of the 21 days. Imagine if she'd go raw, the kind of influence she could have in spreading this diet to others.
I think she quit eating beef when she got sued but I don't know if I'm really suprised about this trial period, she loves animals & she has been working on her spirtual self (i.e. Eckhart Tolle). I have mixed feelings about Oprah - I love her show at times but I also feel at times that she is a gate keeper - but maybe she trully doesn't have some of the information that the rest of us do (which is hard to believe). Either way, I am happy that she has taken a step forward to think of the animals & their struggle for life & happiness :-)
I am so excited about this! I am not an Oprah fan personally, but she is arguably one of the most powerful women in the country. When she does something, there is an immediate, direct effect - remember the hamburger incident a few years ago? That was huge! If this sticks, she could really influence a lot of people to think about veganism in a more open-minded manner. And if that takes off, eventually those people will understand raw food better, as well. I think it is fantastic!
Yay! I Tivo all of Oprahs shows, and I was so excited when I saw this one! It's definitely a step in the right direction. Now let's hope she likes it so much she never goes back! :)
even though i don't watch her show, i must admit when i heard this i went to her blog, etc. and i saw that one of the meals was raw! i was pretty surprised. she had a zucchini 'pasta' with raw 'alfredo' sauce. yum.
Oprah is going vegetarian, not vegan - I saw the episode where this was discussed. A vegan doesn't wear leather or wool or cashmere, and strict vegans don't use bee products. I don't think Oprah will give up her cashmere sweaters, leather bags and leather Jimmy Choos :) Provided she sticks with it and doesn't blast the diet later for whatever reason (which would turn people off vegetarianism) , then it's a really good thing. I don't see her staying vegetarian though, unfortunately, but maybe having "vegetarian days". But even that's an improvement.
I dunno, I'm not an Oprah fan. My mom worships her, but my mom isn't really.... "aware". I appreciate the good things Oprah does (mainly raising awareness), but she does some things that really turn me off.
I also fear for some people going vegetarian will mean eating lots of sugary cereals, white bread, crackers, and sweetener-laden soy protein bars and other soy products. And then they'll say vegetarianism made them unhealthy.
I still wear suede shoes and leather belts, but only because they're left over from my not-so-healthy-or-enlightened days. It would be wasteful to toss them out and create more garbage. Then that animal truly did die in vain.
Thanks Loren. Makes sense to me. My problem is that when I blend (which means more volume of fruits) then i am more regular with my bowels. What I can eat & chew doesn't always trigger peristalsis in the same way. I had chemo a few years back and ...

I don't know.
But a chiropractic subluxation means that you either have too little or too much electricity flowing to your organs.
Too little means your temperature will be below 37 degrees. And you probably lack energy and may have chronic dise...
