i have quite a ridiculous collection of raw recipe books, and i thought it might be fun for people to post their favorites, and then their favorite recipe from that book!
mine are~
Raw Food Real World~ the lasagna
The Raw Food Detox Diet~ the classic avocado salad (i dont remember the exact names of the recipes)
Raw Food Life Force Energy~ the corn chowder
Living Cuisine~ the strawberry milkshake and her carrot soupe recipe and the pesto stuffed mushrooms (really like this one)
lately, i've been using ani phyo and raw food real world a lot. i just got living cuisine though and really like what i've tried so far. but i haven't had it long enough to say i have a fave.
raw food real world - tamales
ani phyo - stuffed peppers or cheesecake
My first raw soup was from Matt's book, a veggie soup that uses the wintery herbs from my garden: sage, rosemary, thyme....mmm
I love reading Raw Food Real World and am looking forward to getting a dehydrator so I can try more recipes!
I've been making lots of juices and smoothies (mmmBunnySpice) and their basic "filling salad" almost everyday.
I have been using the juice recipes from my old fav cookbook (made almost every recipe from this book when i was lacto-ovo vegetarian!)

really? thats interesting, that was probably my least favorite recipe of his, lol. although i learned after several of his recipes not to use braggs instead of nama shoyu cause apparently its twice as salty. he uses a lot of nama shoyu and i kept thinking "why is everything so ridiculously salty?!". i may have to try that one again. my all time favorite from his book is the garlic cream dressing!
yeah. i've been really hit or miss with this book so far as well. like, look what happened when i tried to make spirulina pie... http://raw.ivorylodge.net/?p=34
but overall, i've definitely been more in sync with other books. i've had a couple flops from here. so i haven't tried much from it lately. i should go back...
Rande - That is so funny. I had the same problem. I've read a number of books stating you can sub the Braggs but it is so not true...Just like most recipes I do tweek it....I add tons of spinach where it is almost like spread and use it for dips and sorta like "mayo" on veggie sandwiches...
The most incredible thing about going raw was unlearning everything I had learned about cooking. I considered myself a "better than average" cook - but raw - the first couple of months I sucked - My dogs were happy as they had the option of eating my experiments, but they are not retarded - as I found they even turned down some of my concoctions...
Since it's just me I've learned to cut each recipe in half the first time I do it - this way if it's not edible I don't feel like I've used a $20 bill for compost...:)
wow did that beautiful lady kiss u.. lol
great u won two things.
the 2nd rank and her heart?
oops shes married right?
oh well theres tons of ppl that love u specially on GITMR
can u help me with my postures when u run your raw-community?
i do yoga, but not regularly, and my flexibility isnt that great.
my breathing capacity is great, and thats the only thing good.
things that have actually worked for me:
Valerian root for tea - very calming...
Lemon juice, sliced lemon peel, lemon grass or lemon verbina, raw honey, star anise (optional), maybe some ginger, hot water (let it all infuse together for a while) ...
oh yeah there were like 3 judges who really eager to find mistakes in my asanas and other yoga practices that they asked me to perform :)
But i am lucky hahahaha
