Hey I just joined recently. I'm a 22 yr old college student living in GA. I'm so excited to see so many people raw. When I first learned about raw foods about 7 years ago, there were very few sites. This is amazing!! I am transitioning into the raw lifestyle because it just makes sense. I'm sure that several others feel the same. I look forward to meeting some great people.
Can anyone in GA please tell me where any good farmers markets are because the price of fruits and vegetables is ridiculous. That would greatly be appreciated as I am a lowly, poor college student.
im not from georgia but welcome anyways! I only started my journey after college so i dont know how i wouldve done it either without hittin up some local markets. Welcome again and good luck!
Dekalb Famers Market is great. I heard Morningside is great as well. (They are only open on Saturdays I believe) I am in Atlanta. Maybe we can trade raw secrets!
Hi Elisa,
I'm Stacey and I live in Covington Ga. I'm as close to raw as I think I am going to be( I think). Anyway, I shop at The Dekalbs Farmers Market off of Ponce De Leon in Decatur Ga. It's the largest and best farmers market I have ever been to. I thought about moving out of the state, but I love the farmers market too much to leave. The market offers a variety of raw foods and the prices are great( to me anyway). When you get the chance, go! I'm sure you will fall in love with it. I also encourage you to visit "goneraw", one of the best raw websites I have yet to find. If I can be of any further help, just shot me an e-mail.
I bought a cheap Oster 16 speed blender (like $25) about a year ago and it does magic. Sort of small, but blends everything I need and leaves my green smoothies smoooooth. Even blends whole nuts =] Oh yeah!
My food processor burnt out and I'm considering getting the Magic Bullet as a replacement. Can it also make things like date/nut bars as well as smoothies? Do cheap blenders work well at making daily green smoothies?
I'd get a processor/blender c...
