I love it! I use it more than any of my other cookbooks. Great recipes for "fried beans," Tahini dressing, hemp pesto, almond hummus, buckwheat crackers, their amazing smoothies and desserts. It's a must have!
Thanks so much for your feedback! Do a lot of the recipes call for nut milk and/or sprouting? Also, would most of the ingredients be easy to find at a local grocery store?
Hey. I would recommend the book as well. They have the best desert recipes. But the recipes can be a bit long and some require a dehydrator. THere isnt a lot of nutmilks and most of the ingredients you can get at the grocery store. There are some things like irish moss or lecithin that arent easy to find but overall, its a really nice book! Enjoy
Hi Eden!
I had the pleasure of being in San Fran last weekend... went to BOTH locations of Cafe Gratitude to eat.... the food was so amazing, and I flipped through the cook book and just had to buy it. It is a bit more simple for me to use than my other two books: Pure Food and Wine and Juliano's RAW.... this one has fewer ingredients and I just like it for the ease of it. I have been "cooking" all afternoon with it!! My daughter is home from college and I want her to try some of it. She is a vegetarian, not a raw girl, but she is certainly open to trying my "stuff"... I've been making this great firey salsa, I've made some soups, several salad dressings, some of the "cheeses" made of raw nuts.. and also the hummus... made from raw nuts... I just love it! I don't have a dehydrator.. does anyone here just use the oven on very low? I need to buy one, but I just spent $$$ on a Vita Mix.. sooo it might be awhile... so what do you do if you don't have a dehydrator? Has anyone made the spinach tortillas in the Cafe Gratitude book? I really want to make those.
cafe grat is my fav raw place EVER! raw tiramisu like wow dude! i am festive, i am chipper... those are my favs. and they're coconut curry soup is rawesome too. get it! rather.... go there! berk is my fav one.
I love it to! I refer to it often. The almond hummus is YUM! I would buy it. You should be able to find all the stuff you need for the recipes at the regular grocery store.
women wants to re-make them just like if they were their own babies, and yet they want them to act grown up like a "real" man father and all that stuff. doomed to fail each time
Watch all three nights online. Some great info was given, but seemed like it was all about getting people to buy more and more products. All I know is that they made a TON of money.
