To celebrate the end of my juice feast (April 14th), I am planning to splurge on myself and buy myself a few treats. I plan on buying QUITE a few vegan cookbooks... but I wanted to get your opinions on which ones I should get. Bear in mind, I love love love cookbooks with desserts.... I love to have dinner parties that knock people's socks off (aka; I like recipes with VERY gourmet... five star restaurant-like recipes) AND I'm also a busy person so quick and easy things during the week are a blessing! :)
Also keep in mind, I already own rawvolution and raw food real world.
Please let me know your top 3 favorite raw-cookbooks and why you like them :)
I have "Living Cuisine" & "Rawsome" and I also subscribe to "Purely Delicious" magazine. The cookbooks I bought I picked because they have alot of information in them plus alot of recipes. Being new to raw food I wanted as much in a cookbook as I could get.
I figured I should update everyone on the result of my shopping spree. I'll admit... I got really carried away.

Hi Ben ~ I can relate to your food style preference, I like it gourmet too. You might consider Raw Food Real World, a great choice for high-end haute cuisine and guess what, if you didn't already know Sarma has another book out called Living Raw Food: Get the Glow with 100 More Recipes from Pure Food and Wine. I just stumbled across it today while browsing Amazon.com and though I have yet to receive it, I can't imagine it being anything less than fabulous. I also like Ani's Raw Food Kitchen and check out Kristen Suzanne's ebooks.
one that i am stuck on right now is "Light Eating for Survival" by Marcia Madhuri Acciardo. it was published in the 70s but it is a really nice recipe book (illustrations by Peter Max are a bonus)!
I had a few raw books but last week I did a major raw life inspired book shopping, I bought: 1. Raw Food Real World 2. The Complete book of Raw food, 4. Raw by Charlie Trotter 5. Raw The Uncook Book 6. The Raw Food Detox Diet by Natalia Rose 7. Herbal Remedies By Andrew Chevallier (to give me some ideas for making decoctions and such). I read and made a few dishes from some of these books before purchasing so i'm please overall. I like Raw Food Real World because the food taste damn good! I like raw food detox diet because for someone like me who is still in the new stages of going raw and it has a lot of transition foods that are simple to prepare. I like RAwvolution because...it was the first raw book i ever bought and i like the soup recipes. However - i didn't like a few recipes, namely the borscht
A food log is a great idea! I hope that you can isolate the cause. They didn't hurt or itch or anything like that, but they didn't look right. At first I thought it was skin cancer or something!
I looked up petechiae as Eric recommended in the co...
Yes- they're called petechiae and I've always heard that they are liver-related. They can also be due to anemia and low platelet count. If you also bruise easily, that might be the likely cause.
I get them too and they come and go.
Pink Lady Apple,
I used to get those. I know exactly what they look like - they are tiny, they can vary in size, they are circular, flat, and very red. They do look like blood blisters, but flat!
I stop getting them after I did an extended water...
I really believe that is possible to heal all of the body...regeneration of tissue is not a far fetched concept. There is a case of a man who re-grew a finger, recently! I have to dig to find the article, but I read it on naturalnews.com. Mind you...
i can understand american accent, i have been working with them for quite a while
my ear is not tuned to ause accent yet, i guess you are my first ause friend to talk with :)
